MALAYSIA, May 21, 2025 – SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) has unveiled a sweeping wave of Business AI innovations and strategic partnerships at its annual SAP Sapphire 2025 conference, signaling a bold step forward in transforming enterprise productivity. Designed to deliver up to 30% increases in efficiency, SAP’s latest advancements put the power of generative AI directly in users’ hands, across every function and industry.
With Joule, SAP’s intelligent AI assistant, now integrated throughout business applications and operations, users can receive real-time, personalized support across tasks and workflows — both within and beyond the SAP ecosystem. Joule is now enhanced with a new action bar powered by WalkMe, enabling it to proactively anticipate user needs while maintaining the highest ethical AI standards.
“SAP combines the world’s most powerful suite of business applications with uniquely rich data and the latest AI innovations to create a flywheel of customer value,” said Christian Klein, CEO of SAP. “With the expansion of Joule, our partnerships with leading AI pioneers, and advancements in SAP Business Data Cloud, we’re delivering on the promise of Business AI as we drive digital transformations that help customers thrive in an increasingly unpredictable world.”
Expanding AI Capabilities with Perplexity and Palantir
A strategic collaboration with Perplexity, a leading AI answer engine, further boosts Joule’s capability by enabling the assistant to analyze structured and unstructured data in real time. Users can now ask complex business questions and receive visual, data-driven insights — including graphs and forecasts — contextualized with both internal and external data.
SAP also launched an expanded library of Joule Agents, intelligent AI-powered units that autonomously manage business processes across lines of business. These interoperable agents support operations in finance, supply chain, HR, customer experience, and procurement, allowing organizations to adapt faster and operate smarter.
In a separate major move, SAP and Palantir have joined forces to support customers’ digital modernization efforts. Their integrated data solution empowers enterprises — including the U.S. government — to harmonize data across systems, enabling faster, more reliable decisions.
Foundations for AI at Scale
SAP introduced AI Foundation, a new development operating system designed to accelerate how enterprises build, extend, and scale AI solutions. The platform includes a prompt optimizer, developed in collaboration with frontier AI lab Not Diamond, that helps developers shorten complex prompt engineering from days to minutes.
SAP also rolled out intelligent business applications within the SAP Business Data Cloud, each tailored for specific lines of business. For example, People Intelligence transforms workforce and skills data into actionable insights, enhancing talent optimization and team performance.
Accelerating Cloud Transformation
To ease the transition to cloud-based enterprise systems, SAP launched Business Suite Packages embedded with SAP Build tools, enabling customers to easily tailor applications to their business needs.
Additionally, SAP introduced a new cloud transformation solution powered by Joule, SAP Signavio, and SAP LeanIX. This innovation offers organizations tailored, real-time guidance for cloud migration — with the potential to accelerate transformation time by up to 35%.
