Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has revealed Phantom Regatta, a one-of-one Phantom Extended commission inspired by England’s rich maritime heritage.
The exclusive luxury saloon will make its public debut at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. It celebrates the racing yachts of the Solent, Chichester Harbour and the famous Cowes Week regatta.
These waterways sit within sight of the Goodwood Estate, home to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. Moreover, they share a historic connection with co-founder Sir Henry Royce, whose former residence stood nearby in West Wittering.
A Bespoke Phantom Inspired by Britain’s Sailing Tradition
Phantom Regatta showcases the capabilities of Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke division. The commission transforms Britain’s sailing heritage into a handcrafted luxury motor car.
According to Phil Fabre de la Grange, Head of Bespoke at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, the project captures the colours, materials and spirit of competitive yachting. At the same time, it preserves the effortless refinement that defines the Phantom.
He added that the commission demonstrates how Rolls-Royce designers, engineers and craftspeople tell stories through carefully selected paint, leather, wood and metal. Each element is handcrafted to the marque’s exacting standards.
Nautical-Inspired Exterior Design
The exterior adopts a striking two-tone finish inspired by Britain’s coastline.
The upper body wears Regatta Blue, a deep marine-inspired paint. Meanwhile, the lower body features English White. Rolls-Royce artisans hand-applied the finish to recreate the waterline of a sailing yacht.
In addition, Phantom Regatta rides on 22-inch fully polished disc wheels. Their reflective surfaces resemble the polished steel winches found aboard racing yachts.
Interior Celebrates Life at Sea
Inside, Phantom Regatta continues its nautical theme.

The front cabin features Navy Blue leather, representing deep ocean waters. The rear suite uses Grace White leather to evoke sailcloth and sea spray. Meanwhile, the steering wheel, piping and stitching combine both colours. Rolls-Royce also embroidered the RR monograms in Turchese, inspired by clear coastal waters.
The cabin also combines Piano Milori veneer with Open Pore Royal Walnut. Craftspeople finished both materials in satin across the Waterfall section, rear doors and picnic tables.
Notably, the handcrafted picnic tables required around 120 hours to complete. Each table features 16 Royal Walnut planks cut from the same timber section for perfectly matched grain. Thin strips of Black Bolivar wood separate each plank. As a result, the design recreates the caulking found on traditional yacht decks.
Bespoke Artwork and Starlight Headliner
The cabin’s centrepiece is a hand-painted Gallery artwork called Watercolour.
Rolls-Royce’s in-house artist created the piece using specially developed paints on an open-pore wooden surface. Over two weeks, the artist refined new blending techniques through multiple test panels. Consequently, the finished artwork faithfully captures the movement of the sea.
Above the passengers, a bespoke Starlight Headliner features 1,307 individually positioned fibre-optic lights. The design draws inspiration from the tidal currents around the Isle of Wight. Moreover, illuminated coach doors enhance the cabin’s atmosphere.
Hidden Details Reflect Rolls-Royce Heritage
Phantom Regatta also includes subtle details that connect it to its birthplace.
Each signature “eyeball” air vent carries engraved geographical coordinates. However, occupants can only see them when they tilt the vents forward.
The passenger-side vent displays the coordinates of Goodwood House. Meanwhile, the driver’s-side vent marks the Home of Rolls-Royce. Together, these hidden engravings celebrate the place where Rolls-Royce created this one-of-a-kind commission.
Bespoke Luxury Continues to Define Rolls-Royce
Phantom Regatta reinforces Rolls-Royce’s position at the pinnacle of bespoke luxury motoring.
Rather than creating another luxury vehicle, Rolls-Royce has crafted a tribute to Britain’s sailing heritage. The commission blends automotive engineering, traditional craftsmanship and artistic expression into a single Bespoke masterpiece.
