Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has unveiled the new Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, bringing the Maybach marque’s interpretation of luxury into a two-seater roadster designed to combine high-performance driving with open-top comfort.
As the first fully open-top Maybach in the brand’s history, the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series combines a sporting character with exclusive Maybach design, handcrafted details and advanced comfort features.
The model is available in Malaysia in two distinctive finishes, including the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series Red Ambience, which features an obsidian black metallic finish over MANUFAKTUR garnet red metallic, and an obsidian black bonnet featuring the Maybach pattern in graphite grey uni.
Inside, the roadster features sustainably tanned, crystal-white MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Nappa leather, silver chrome trim and a MANUFAKTUR roof liner in crystal-white MICROCUT microfibre.
A new expression of Mercedes-Maybach luxury

The new model is aimed at customers seeking individuality and attention to detail, with its sporty two-seater configuration, open-top driving experience and signature Maybach styling coming together to create a distinctive luxury roadster.

Two-tone exterior finishes and handcrafted details
The Red Ambience variant features a two-tone paint finish combining obsidian black metallic with MANUFAKTUR garnet red metallic.
Customers can also choose the White Ambience, which pairs obsidian black metallic with MANUFAKTUR opalite white magno.
Both colour combinations are designed to reflect the sensuality, beauty and lightness associated with the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series.
The model features an illuminated, chrome-finished Maybach radiator grille and integrated MAYBACH lettering. An upright Mercedes star sits on the bonnet, complemented by a chrome fin running along its centre.
The obsidian black bonnet is further distinguished by the Maybach pattern in graphite grey uni. Applying the pattern is a complex process that is partly carried out by hand, involving multiple stages of coating, sanding, printing and finishing to achieve the desired result.
Other exterior details include rose gold accents inside the headlights, a dedicated front skirt with horizontal air intakes, a chrome-finished windscreen frame and chrome sill insert.
The roadster rides on 21-inch forged five-hole wheels, while silver-coloured brake callipers bearing MAYBACH lettering highlight the vehicle’s performance credentials.
Maybach design continues into the cabin
The extensively insulated acoustic soft top is finished in light black fabric, with the Maybach pattern subtly incorporated in anthracite.
At the rear, Maybach-specific design elements include rear lights featuring the Maybach signet, a chrome-trimmed rear skirt, a dedicated diffuser and tailpipe trims with a horizontal bar.
An aerodynamically designed double scoop behind the seats reinforces the roadster’s distinctive proportions, working with the chrome bonnet fin to create an elegant and sporty profile, particularly with the roof lowered.
Inside, sustainably tanned crystal-white Nappa leather covers the door panels, centre console and Maybach comfort seats. The seats feature a new floral upholstery design, while the space behind the seats is also finished in white leather.
Galvanised seat backrests and silver chrome trim add contrast, complemented by a crystal-white MICROCUT microfibre MANUFAKTUR roof liner.
The cabin also features a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument display and an electrically adjustable 11.9-inch centre display, both incorporating Maybach-specific start-up animations and display styles.
Other details include a wood-and-leather multifunction steering wheel, stainless-steel pedals and illuminated stainless-steel door sills bearing MAYBACH lettering.
Open-top comfort in every season
The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series is equipped with AIRSCARF, which directs warm air around the driver and passenger’s neck and nape, allowing occupants to enjoy open-top driving even in cooler conditions.
The ENERGIZING Package Plus further enhances cabin comfort through coordinated seat climate control, ambient lighting and multi-contour seats with massage functions.
The system is designed to help maintain driver alertness while providing a more comfortable and relaxing driving experience.
The in-cabin specification is complemented by a Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system, head-up display and high-pile floor mats.
Even the vehicle key receives a Maybach treatment, finished in high-gloss white with an ornamental high-gloss rose gold surround.
585hp V8 delivers Maybach performance
Despite its focus on luxury and comfort, the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series is powered by a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine producing 430kW (585hp) and 800Nm of torque.
Power is delivered through a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission with adapted accelerator pedal characteristics, providing the dynamic performance expected from a Maybach.
The roadster accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 260km/h.
Mercedes-Maybach has also focused heavily on driving refinement. The model features a noise-optimised exhaust system, extensive insulation and absorption measures, comfort-oriented suspension settings and soft engine mounts to deliver a quieter and more comfortable driving experience.
Advanced handling and safety technology
The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series features rear-axle steering designed to combine agility with stability, while an electronic rear-axle locking differential helps optimise power distribution and reduce wheel slip.
The roadster is also equipped with ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension and a front axle lift system capable of raising the front axle by up to 30mm, helping protect the front bumper from damage.
Safety and driver assistance features include the Driving Assistance Package, Parking Package with Memory Parking Assist, MAGIC VISION CONTROL and GUARD 360° Vehicle Protection Plus with Digital Extras.

The price is on-the-road and excludes insurance.
