Cyberjaya, 1 July 2025 – MYNIC Berhad, an agency under the Ministry of Digital, has officially launched the ‘Malaysia Businesses & Companies Go .MY’ initiative in collaboration with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM). The initiative simplifies the process for newly registered businesses to obtain a .COM.MY domain, reinforcing the digital presence and brand trust of Malaysian enterprises.

Ministry Support for Digital Infrastructure

The initiative is backed by the Ministry of Digital, aligning with national efforts to build robust digital infrastructure and empower more local businesses to actively participate in the digital economy. The use of .COM.MY domains is seen as a catalyst to accelerate digital transformation and promote trusted national digital assets.

Phased Implementation Rollout

The rollout will follow a phased approach. Phase 1, now active, allows new businesses to voluntarily register a .COM.MY domain through a link provided in their business registration notification email. Phase 2 will be announced at a later stage.

“This initiative offers easier and more affordable access to .COM.MY domains—at rates lower than generic domains like .COM. It supports digital branding, enhances trust among local consumers, and promotes the use of national digital assets,” said Datuk Ts. Hasnul Fadhly Hasan, CEO of MYNIC Berhad.

He further added that MYNIC remains committed to positioning .COM.MY as a national digital asset that strengthens the local digital ecosystem, in line with Malaysia MADANI aspirations and the nation’s goal of becoming a digital leader in Southeast Asia.

Affordable Access and Exclusive Promotion

Under this initiative, eligible businesses can register one .COM.MY domain per company for an exclusive promotional price of RM60 per year, compared to the regular retail price of RM80. The offer applies only to .COM.MY and not to other extensions like .MY, .BIZ.MY, or .ORG.MY.

This move is aimed at reducing the initial cost of digital adoption, offering professional brand identity, business name protection, and stronger customer confidence online.

Supporting SMEs and National Innovation Goals

MYNIC expects the initiative to drive a rise in local domain registrations, promote digitalisation among small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and contribute to Malaysia’s improved performance in the Global Innovation Index (GII).
