Jakarta, 3 July 2025 – In a major boost to regional digital cooperation, 83 Malaysian tech companies have entered the Indonesian market through the DEX CONNEX Indonesia initiative by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), resulting in over RM450 million in digital export opportunities.

Regional Collaboration Through MoUs

The programme facilitated the signing of 26 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between Malaysian and Indonesian firms. These MoUs span a wide array of sectors including AI, cybersecurity, cloud services, digital platforms, talent development, and F&B, with the goal of fostering a strong, collaborative digital ecosystem across ASEAN.

A Digital Bridge Between Malaysia and Indonesia

As Malaysia assumes the ASEAN Chair, DEX CONNEX reinforces the country’s commitment to advancing innovation and regional growth.

“Indonesia is a vital partner in Malaysia’s digital ambitions,” said MDEC CEO Anuar Fariz Fadzil.

“Through DEX CONNEX, Malaysia is focusing on cross-border collaborations to build a resilient digital bridge between two thriving ecosystems. With our strong tech ecosystem and ASEAN unity, we’re shaping a digital future that is inclusive, sustainable, and beneficial to all layers of society,” he added.

DEX CONNEX Indonesia marks another step forward in Malaysia’s broader strategy to position itself as a digital hub in ASEAN, while fostering partnerships that accelerate regional economic growth and digital transformation.
