Invest Melaka Berhad brought together eight companies under the Melaka Pavilion at the 22nd Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2026, held from 23 to 26 September at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur.
The pavilion presented a broader view of Melaka’s halal-related business capabilities, while highlighting the industrial development and supporting infrastructure needed to support the sector’s next phase of growth.
Datuk Ginie Lim Siew Lin, Chief Executive Officer of Invest Melaka Berhad, said MIHAS provided a clearer perspective on the state’s existing halal industry capabilities and the opportunities to strengthen connections between established businesses and wider industrial development.
“Our companies have built their capabilities and established their businesses, and they are an important part of the state’s halal industry foundation,” she said.
For Invest Melaka, she added, the focus is on making these strengths more visible while creating stronger connections between established businesses and the wider industrial development taking place in the state.
Building a More Complete Halal Ecosystem

Lim said Invest Melaka wants companies already operating in the state to continue growing, while new industrial spaces and development projects create the conditions for more businesses to establish and expand in Melaka.
“We want to see companies that are already in Melaka continue to grow, while new industrial spaces and development projects create the conditions for more businesses to establish and expand here,” she said.
She added that bringing businesses, industrial developments and supporting initiatives together over time could help build a stronger and more complete halal industry ecosystem in Melaka.
Invest Melaka’s role includes promoting investment opportunities and facilitating business growth in the state, with halal products listed among its key industry sectors.
Melaka Halal Hub 2.0 Supports Industrial Growth
PDG Property participated as the Melaka Pavilion’s Platinum Partner, bringing attention to the Melaka Halal Hub 2.0 development in Mukim Serkam.
Jojo Gwee, Chief Executive Officer of PDG Property, said the development of the halal industry should be viewed as a long-term process, particularly as growing companies require greater capacity and stronger industrial facilities.
“The companies that are growing today will eventually require greater capacity, better facilities and a stronger industrial environment to support their next stage,” she said.
Gwee added that PDG Property’s participation at MIHAS reflected its interest in understanding this progression, while Melaka Halal Hub 2.0 represents the company’s contribution towards building industrial capacity to support the sector.
Eight Companies Showcase Melaka’s Halal Capabilities
The Melaka Pavilion brought together eight participating companies from different areas of the halal-related business landscape.
They were:
- PDG Property
- Xepa-Soul Pattinson (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.
- GHS Food Industries Sdn. Bhd.
- Besfomec Industries Sdn. Bhd.
- Melilea (M) Sdn. Bhd.
- MBN International Sdn. Bhd.
- Top Alliance Distribution Sdn. Bhd.
- Oriental Food Industries Sdn. Bhd.
The collective presence provided a platform for businesses across different parts of the halal ecosystem to showcase their capabilities and engage with potential partners and industry stakeholders.
Strengthening Industry and Investment Connections
The Melaka Pavilion also served as a focal point for engagements with national-level industry stakeholders during MIHAS.
YB Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, visited the pavilion and engaged with senior representatives from the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), including its Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Indera Abu Bakar Yusof.
The participation marked a broader collective presence for Melaka at MIHAS, reflecting Invest Melaka’s role in bringing businesses, industrial developments and relevant stakeholders together.
Through the Melaka Pavilion and developments such as Melaka Halal Hub 2.0, Invest Melaka is positioning the state’s existing halal businesses alongside the industrial capacity needed to support their continued expansion and strengthen Melaka’s role within the wider halal economy.
