Following last year’s tremendous success, this prestigious event returns with the aim of advancing the national mission to empower entrepreneurs as global export players, targeting participation from 400 local companies eager to explore new export opportunities.
The event will be officiated by YB Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Deputy Premier of Sarawak, and will also be attended by YB Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, Chairman of MATRADE, and YBhg. Dato Mohammad Medan Abdullah, Board Member of MATRADE.
“Sarawak has shown exceptional export performance and impressive economic resilience,” said YBhg. Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, Chief Executive Officer of MATRADE.
“The organisation of this Export Day is a key initiative to open new opportunities for more Sarawakian entrepreneurs and prepare them to penetrate international markets,” he added.
In 2024, Sarawak recorded an export value of RM116.8 billion, marking an increase of 3.82% compared to the previous year. This achievement positions Sarawak as the fourth-largest contributor to Malaysia’s total exports. Key export commodities from Sarawak include mineral fuels and lubricants (58.9%), manufactured goods (16.0%), animal and vegetable oils and fats (14.7%), and machinery and transport equipment (5.2%).
Sarawak Export Day will feature panel sessions and business networking opportunities designed to equip exporters with the latest market insights and highlight trade facilitation services provided by the government.
