SUBANG JAYA, 21 SEPTEMBER 2026 - Indonesia-based logistics provider Lion Parcel has entered Malaysia as its first international market, leveraging Batik Air Malaysia’s air connectivity and KLIA cargo infrastructure to strengthen cross-border delivery between Malaysia, Indonesia and wider international markets.

Indonesia-based logistics service provider Lion Parcel has officially opened its first international office in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, marking the company’s first step into an international market and strengthening logistics connectivity between Malaysia, Indonesia and other international destinations.

Malaysia was selected as Lion Parcel’s first overseas market due to its strategic position as a regional logistics hub. Through its Malaysian operations, the company aims to create more opportunities for businesses and communities to meet their cross-border delivery needs while connecting Malaysia with Indonesia and other international markets.

The move also positions Malaysia as part of Lion Parcel’s broader international expansion strategy, with the company looking to use the country as a base for wider regional connectivity.

Leveraging the Lion Group Ecosystem

Lion Parcel Chief Executive Officer Farian Kirana said Malaysia represents an important first step in the company’s international journey, particularly because of the connectivity available through the wider Lion Group ecosystem.

“Malaysia is an important first step in Lion Parcel’s international journey. We see significant opportunities to optimise the Lion Group ecosystem, particularly Batik Air Malaysia’s air connectivity,” he said.

According to Farian, Batik Air Malaysia’s international network gives Lion Parcel’s business partners access to a wider range of destinations, while the cargo infrastructure supported by Batik Air Malaysia’s Cargo Terminal Operator (CTO) provides additional operational capabilities.

The integration of air connectivity and cargo infrastructure is intended to support more efficient delivery processes and help packages move between markets faster and more securely.

Farian added that Lion Parcel aims to serve not only as a logistics provider, but also as an enabler within the wider business ecosystem by helping companies access markets and growth opportunities.

Malaysia’s Role in Regional Logistics Connectivity

Alvin Williams, Country Head of Lion Parcel Malaysia, said the company sees Malaysia as both an important market and a strategic location within the region’s evolving logistics landscape.

“Malaysia has an important role to play in the development of regional logistics connectivity, particularly with Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) continuing to develop its position as a regional air cargo and transshipment hub,” he said.

For Lion Parcel, Malaysia’s air cargo infrastructure creates opportunities to connect delivery services with wider regional networks and support the movement of goods between Malaysia, Indonesia and other international markets.

Lion Parcel Malaysia currently provides delivery services for both business-to-business (B2B) and retail customers, including international shipments to destinations served through the Lion Group’s flight network.

Connecting Businesses Through Air Cargo Infrastructure

Lion Parcel’s Malaysian operations are supported by Batik Air Malaysia’s air connectivity, which currently serves more than 60 destinations across 20 countries, covering markets across Southeast Asia, China, India, Australia and other regional destinations.

The logistics provider plans to leverage this network as part of its operational development while expanding delivery connectivity between Malaysia, Indonesia and international markets.

Lion Parcel is also supported by a Cargo Terminal Operator operated by Batik Air Malaysia at KLIA Cargo Village in Selangor.

The integrated cargo infrastructure serves as an important part of Lion Parcel’s Malaysian operations, helping support air freight, transshipment and international delivery processes.

By connecting its delivery services with the existing air cargo network, Lion Parcel aims to improve the efficiency and connectivity of cross-border logistics.

Supporting Cross-Border Business Growth

The company’s Malaysian expansion comes as businesses increasingly require logistics networks that can support cross-border trade and access to regional markets.

Lion Parcel said its Malaysian presence will help businesses and communities move goods more efficiently across markets and reach wider opportunities.

The company is also looking to leverage partnerships and existing infrastructure as it develops its Malaysian operations, rather than building an entirely separate logistics ecosystem. Recent reporting indicates that Lion Parcel intends to work with local partners across areas including first-mile, last-mile delivery and customs clearance while focusing its own capabilities on mid-mile services and air cargo capacity.

Malaysia Marks Beginning of Wider Expansion

As its first international market, Malaysia marks the beginning of Lion Parcel’s broader international expansion journey.

The company said it will continue exploring opportunities to expand its connectivity and collaborate with partners across different markets, with Malaysia expected to play a role in connecting future regional operations.

With its first international office now established in Subang Jaya, Lion Parcel is positioning Malaysia as a key link between its Indonesian operations, the Lion Group’s international air network and businesses seeking cross-border logistics solutions.

The company’s Malaysian operations are available to both B2B and retail customers, with international shipments supported through destinations served by the Lion Group’s flight network.
