BYD Sime Motors, the official distributor of BYD cars in Malaysia, has introduced the limited-edition 2026 BYD ATTO 3 Performance in conjunction with Malaysia’s 69th Merdeka celebrations.
Only 69 units of the new Performance variant will be available in Malaysia, marking a symbolic celebration of national pride and the country’s progress in electric mobility.
The launch also completes the 2026 BYD ATTO 3 line-up in Malaysia, joining the Ultra and Premium variants introduced earlier this year.
The new Performance variant builds on the BYD ATTO 3’s established electric SUV offering with greater power, quicker acceleration and all-wheel drive capability, while retaining the practicality, comfort and safety expected of an everyday vehicle.
With a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of just 4.0 seconds, the Performance variant is designed for customers seeking a more dynamic driving experience without compromising everyday usability.
More Power and All-Wheel Drive
At the heart of the 2026 BYD ATTO 3 Performance is a high-output electric powertrain producing a combined system output of 330 kW of power and 560 Nm of torque.
This makes it the most powerful BYD ATTO 3 to date.
Its all-wheel drive system supports acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, giving drivers stronger response, improved traction and greater confidence across city roads, highways and changing weather conditions.

Completing the 2026 ATTO 3 Line-up
The addition of the Performance variant gives Malaysian EV drivers a wider choice across accessibility, range and performance.
The Ultra serves as the accessible entry point, while the Premium combines greater driving range with stronger rear-wheel drive performance. The limited-edition Performance variant sits at the top of the range as the most powerful and performance-focused option.
Adeline Lew, Managing Director of BYD Sime Motors, said more than 13,000 BYD ATTO 3 units are now on Malaysian roads, reflecting the model’s appeal and BYD’s growing presence in the local electric mobility market.
“With the 2026 Performance variant, we are building on that success while prioritising customers’ ownership journey,” she said.
Lew added that customers are supported by BYD’s expanding network of 44 sales and marketing outlets, 28 service centres and 12 body and paint facilities, alongside the BYD Certified Pre-Owned Programme.
Performance Meets Everyday Practicality
Despite its performance focus, the 2026 BYD ATTO 3 Performance retains the practical character of the electric SUV.
It is equipped with a 74.88 kWh BYD Blade Battery, supports DC fast charging of up to 220 kW and offers a 530 km NEDC driving range.
This gives drivers flexibility for daily commuting as well as longer journeys.
The Performance variant also retains the BYD ATTO 3’s comfort-focused cabin and comprehensive safety technology. New features include a Windscreen Head-Up Display (W-HUD) and, for the first time in the BYD ATTO 3 line-up, a vehicle refrigerator with both cooling and heating functions.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems carried over from the Premium variant include Intelligent Speed Limit Control (ISLC), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA) and Front Cross Traffic Brake (FCTB).
Pricing and Limited Launch Package
The 2026 BYD ATTO 3 Performance is priced at RM149,800, while the existing Ultra and Premium variants remain priced at RM125,800 and RM138,800 respectively.
The Performance variant is available in Ski White, Atlantis Grey, Harbour Grey and Cosmos Black.
Customers can view and book the new model at authorised BYD showrooms from 10 September. They can also experience the vehicle at BYD showrooms from 11 to 13 September.
As part of the launch, customers can choose from an exclusive package offering value of up to RM10,000, subject to terms and conditions.
The options are:
- Option A: Wall Charger with Standard Installation and Overtrade worth up to RM6,000.
- Option B: Six-Year Standard Service Package and Overtrade worth up to RM5,000.
Warranty and Ownership Support
The limited-edition 2026 BYD ATTO 3 Performance comes with the same comprehensive warranty package as the wider BYD ATTO 3 range.
This includes a six-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000 km high-voltage Blade Battery warranty and an eight-year or 160,000 km drive unit warranty.
Customers will also receive a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) Adapter and a Type 2 charging cable with a three-pin plug as complimentary accessories.
With its combination of higher performance, all-wheel drive, long-range battery technology and everyday practicality, the limited-edition Performance variant adds a more powerful option to BYD’s growing electric vehicle line-up in Malaysia.
