Junior Chamber International Malaysia (JCIM), through its host organisation JCI Lutong, has unveiled the finalists for the 2026 JCI Malaysia Sustainable Development Awards (JCIM SDA).
The finalists were revealed during a press conference held at Pustaka Miri in Miri, Sarawak, on 29 August 2026.
Aligned with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) adopted by 193 UN Member States in 2015, the JCIM SDA recognises organisations whose initiatives make meaningful and measurable contributions towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The awards celebrate innovative, impactful and responsible practices that benefit communities, the environment and future generations.
The 2026 edition received 49 submissions from Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and the Philippines, reflecting the awards’ growing regional recognition and influence in advancing sustainable development.
Initiatives Address Education, Innovation and Sustainability
A total of 29 organisations were named finalists in recognition of their contributions to sustainable development across a range of areas and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Among the highlighted finalists are Berry Group Sdn Bhd, which received recognition for two projects.
Its Berry Borderless Learning project, under the tagline ‘Online Supplementary Education for Every Student’, supports SDG 4: Quality Education.
The organisation’s second project, Berry Educator Empowerment Platform, carries the tagline ‘Borderless Teaching, Sustainable Educator Livelihoods’ and contributes to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Other highlighted finalists include Collaborative Excellence Sdn Bhd, recognised for Advancing Malaysia’s Circular Intelligence & Sustainability Infrastructure under SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
Pinc Technology Sdn Bhd was also recognised for PINC Innovation Forward: A Talent-to-Impact Programme, which supports SDG 9.
Under SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, Pemegang Amanah Alpro Foundation was named a finalist for its Alpro Safe Medication Disposal Programme.
Meanwhile, Sono Holding Sdn Bhd was recognised under SDG 2: Zero Hunger for its FlaBee Care: Digital First 1,000 Days Growth & Stunting Prevention Ecosystem.
Sustainability Initiatives Spanning Communities and Industries
The awards also highlighted initiatives addressing sustainability across tourism, conservation, community development and social inclusion.
HOST PLATFORM Sdn Bhd was recognised for Democratising Hospitality Technology: Building Malaysia’s Digital Infrastructure for Tourism & Hospitality, under SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
The Malaysian Palm Oil Green Conservation Foundation (MPOGCF) was named a finalist for its Rehabilitation of Orangutan Habitat at Lower Kawag, Ulu Segama Forest Reserve, Lahad Datu, Sabah project, supporting SDG 13: Climate Action.
Under SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, Majlis Perbandaran Hulu Selangor was recognised for Geran Khas Komuniti Mampan (G-KoM) MPHS: Small Grants, Big Impact as a Community-Based Local Financing Model for Sustainable Development in Hulu Selangor.
Trinity Happenings was also recognised for MUSIC FOR ALL, which contributes to SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
The selection of these projects highlights the role locally driven initiatives can play in promoting environmental responsibility and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
Five Pillars of Sustainable Development
The JCIM SDA trophy features five pillars representing the Five Ps of Sustainable Development — People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnership.
These pillars reflect JCIM’s belief that sustainable development requires meaningful action, strong collaboration, shared responsibility and recognition of organisations creating positive impact.
As the JCIM SDA celebrates its 10th anniversary, the awards continue to provide a platform for organisations to showcase their sustainability work, build meaningful partnerships and inspire greater participation in sustainable development.
Final Award Banquet to Take Place in October
The 2026 JCIM SDA journey will culminate in the 2026 JCIM SDA Final Award Banquet, scheduled for 4 October 2026 at Meritz Hotel, Miri, Sarawak.
