PETALING JAYA, 23 July 2025 – Malaysia’s early childhood education landscape saw a major milestone today as YelaoShr officially became a licensed franchise brand, welcoming 66 new franchisees from across the country. The move signals YelaoShr’s transformation from a homegrown education provider into a scalable franchise business, aimed at empowering broader access to personalised early childhood education nationwide.

Nation-Building Through Franchising

The milestone event, officiated by Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) Chairman, Datuk Dr. Radzali Hassan, affirmed the brand’s readiness to scale under Malaysian franchise law.

“Franchising, when done right, can unlock social impact at scale. When we franchise a good idea, we multiply its benefits, not just in profits, but in reach, accessibility, and opportunity,” remarked Radzali. “And that is exactly what YelaoShr is doing today,” he added.

With its updated franchise framework, YelaoShr is opening doors for aspiring edupreneurs—from parents and educators to first-time business owners—to deliver high-quality, child-focused learning experiences within their local communities.

A Multi-Entity Ecosystem Backing the Brand

Four key entities support YelaoShr’s holistic education model:

  • YelaoShr Education Group Sdn. Bhd., offering MOE-recognised language and communication programmes
  • YelaoShr Education Academy Sdn. Bhd., focused on teacher training and TVET initiatives
  • Sribhagawan Innovation Group Sdn. Bhd., developing proprietary EdTech solutions
  • ClassOne Elearning Education Sdn. Bhd., enabling cross-border digital learning

Together, they underpin YelaoShr’s goal to operate 300 centres by 2028, while setting the stage for regional expansion into Thailand, Cambodia, and Singapore.

Empowerment Through Education Entrepreneurship

“Franchising is not just a business model for us, it is a mission of empowerment,” said Dr. David Yap Wing Fai, Co-Founder and CEO.

“Our goal is to make it easier for more Malaysians, especially women, educators, and young professionals, to own and operate education centres with a proven system, with real support, and with meaningful impact.”

Co-founder Dr. Carol Yap Yee Yee added:

“We’re building an ecosystem where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive regardless of where they come from.”

Strategic Talent Development with HELP University

To ensure talent readiness, YelaoShr signed an MoU with HELP University, providing internship opportunities for students at YelaoShr centres. High-performing graduates will gain access to the brand’s franchise development programme—complete with training, mentorship, and startup support. The collaboration also includes sponsored awards to help outstanding graduates launch their own YelaoShr centres.

Honoured with ASEAN Record Titles

The event concluded with two prestigious recognitions from ASEAN Records, celebrating YelaoShr’s achievement in:

  • Producing the highest number of graduates from Malaysia’s first trilingual one-on-one formative age personalised learning programme
  • Signing the most franchise memoranda of agreement in a single day by a Malaysian personalised education brand

These honours validate YelaoShr’s leadership and innovative model, which has also been recognised by HundrED for global scalability.

Celebrating Finnish-Malaysian Education Synergy

YelaoShr also unveiled a new publication, “Finnish Education is What Malaysian Children Need the Most”, drawing from Finland’s acclaimed education model and the Madani Education Framework 2025–2035. The book outlines a unified vision for child-centric learning that balances imagination, structure, academic rigour, and emotional intelligence.

Values-Driven Growth Through Giving

Reflecting its commitment to social responsibility, YelaoShr presented over RM30,000 in donations to:

  • Maahad Tahfiz Istiqomatuddin Sementa Klang
  • Madrasah Tahfiz Al-Quran Darul Falah, Melaka
  • Dual Blessing Bhd., an NGO supporting persons with disabilities

These contributions reinforce YelaoShr’s belief in growth that uplifts not just franchisees, but the wider communities they serve.
