Junior Chamber International (JCI) Singapore is strengthening its mission to empower young active citizens aged 21 to 40 to lead with purpose and create lasting community impact. Through a year of transformative initiatives, the organisation continues to inspire leadership, innovation, and cross-cultural understanding under the theme of “Purpose and Action.”
Building Leaders Through Collaboration and Global Engagement
Under the leadership of 2025 National President Akira Yasuda, and with the generous support of Main Sponsor Marina Bay Shipping Group, JCI Singapore has accelerated efforts to foster leadership and collaboration across its local chapters.
One of this year’s highlights was the VIP Luncheon at ASPAC Mongolia, which welcomed over 200 distinguished guests from 30 countries, including senators, business leaders and government officials. The exclusive networking event positioned Singapore as a global hub for business diplomacy and showcased the influence of JCI Singapore on the international stage.
Championing Empathy and Inclusion Through Community Projects
JCI Singapore’s spirit of service was further demonstrated through Wave of Change, a signature project by JCI Mandarin held in conjunction with JCI International Human Duties Day. The initiative empowered individuals with special needs to participate in meaningful activities such as beach clean-ups, promoting inclusivity, empathy, and environmental stewardship.
In another milestone, JCI Marina marked its 50th Anniversary with the theme “Empathy, Engage, Empower.” The chapter led more than 50 community projects throughout the year, including the JCI Marina–PH–NY Friendship Without Borders and the Trilateral Beyond Borders initiative, organised in collaboration with various embassies. These projects focused on mental wellness, cross-cultural understanding, and sustainable development, reinforcing JCI’s core values of unity and compassion.
Shaping Future Leaders at the Regional Level
The Asian Academy 2025, hosted by JCI City Singapore, gathered over 60 participants from 12 countries for a week of leadership development, corporate visits, and cultural exchanges. The academy continued JCI’s legacy of cultivating globally minded leaders who are equipped to tackle modern challenges with creativity and resilience.
Looking Ahead: JCI National Convention 2025
The upcoming JCI Singapore National Convention (NatCon 2025), to be hosted by JCI Orchid, carries the forward-looking theme “NEXTPLAY: The Future We Lead.” The two-day convention will bring together members nationwide for training workshops, leadership dialogues, and a gala dinner, celebrating a year of collaboration, innovation and growth.
This capstone event reflects JCI Singapore’s ongoing vision of empowering youth leadership for a better tomorrow, where young people are encouraged to take the next step in shaping communities through purposeful action.
