KUALA LUMPUR, 7 OCTOBER 2025 - The partnership introduces the brand’s sixth charging hub in Malaysia, bringing sustainable luxury mobility closer to urban drivers

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has strengthened its electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem with the launch of a new DC fast-charging hub at Bamboo Hills, Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with DC Handal, a Malaysian provider of EV charging infrastructure and energy solutions.

This latest opening marks the sixth Mercedes-Benz branded charging location in the country and highlights the brand’s commitment to driving Malaysia’s transition towards sustainable mobility under its global Ambition 2039 strategy.

Accelerating Electrification in Malaysia

The Bamboo Hills hub blends convenience with sustainability by integrating EV charging within one of Kuala Lumpur’s most vibrant lifestyle destinations. Developed in partnership with Hap Seng Star, one of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s key retail partners, the facility allows EV owners to recharge their vehicles while enjoying the area’s dining and leisure attractions.

“With Bamboo Hills, we are accelerating the charge, bringing our electric vehicle owners closer to an era where performance, innovation, and sustainability converge,” said Amanda Zhang, CEO & President of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. “This collaboration reflects our strategic commitment to enhancing the Mercedes-Benz EV ecosystem in Malaysia through a robust and intelligent charging network.”

The initiative is part of Mercedes-Benz’s wider charging ecosystem, which extends from residential installations to retail outlets, lifestyle destinations, and mobile charging services — ensuring customers experience seamless electric mobility wherever they go.

Powering Up Through Strategic Partnerships

DC Handal, the energy solutions provider behind the new hub, brings technical expertise and a shared vision for premium EV infrastructure.

“Our partnership with Mercedes-Benz Malaysia at Bamboo Hills represents a significant step forward in delivering reliable, high-performance charging for premium EV drivers,” said Zamri bin Mahmud, Director of DC Handal. “By combining our expertise with Mercedes-Benz’s vision for sustainable luxury, we’re ensuring charging is not only fast and dependable, but also integrated into the places people live, work, and play.”

This collaboration complements Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s existing partnerships with JomCharge, ChargeEV, Gentari, and P.UP, expanding the brand’s reach across Malaysia and providing greater accessibility to EV owners nationwide.

Luxury Meets Sustainability

Beyond infrastructure, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is shaping a holistic EV ownership experience that aligns luxury with environmental responsibility.

“This next phase of our charging strategy is about more than just infrastructure — it’s about creating meaningful touchpoints that elevate every journey,” said Edmin Naidoo, Vice President of Customer Services, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia & SEA II. “Whether at home, on the move, or at lifestyle destinations like Bamboo Hills, we want our customers to feel the seamless integration of luxury and electrification at every stop.”

With eleven fully electric models now available locally — including the Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology — the brand continues to offer Malaysian drivers greater choice, flexibility, and confidence in adopting electric mobility.

Driving the Future of Electric Mobility

Looking ahead, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia aims to roll out additional charging locations nationwide by the end of 2025, reinforcing its position as a leader in premium electric mobility. This forward-thinking approach underscores the company’s vision of a connected, sustainable, and intelligent charging ecosystem that supports the entire EV journey — from ownership to on-road experience.

With this latest collaboration, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia continues to blend innovation, sustainability, and luxury, proving that the future of driving is not just electric — it’s exceptional.
