Malaysia has officially launched the ASEAN Technology Cooperation & Development Summit 2025, a bold move to deepen cross-border tech partnerships and accelerate digital innovation across Southeast Asia. The launch was officiated by Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, YB Dato’ Haji Mohammad Yusof bin Apdal.
The summit will take place from 25–26 November 2025 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur, as a flagship side event of WE2025: Future in Motion.
Co-hosted by Intrinsic SEA and backed by regional stakeholders, the event is set to welcome over 100 companies, 50 global investors, and more than 2,000 innovators. Attendees will come from ASEAN, China, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.
Tech Collaboration at the Heart of ASEAN Growth
The summit is aligned with WE2025’s “Future Tech & AI” pillar and Malaysia’s National Science, Technology & Innovation Policy (2021–2030). The summit serves as a platform for public and private stakeholders to align on key tech development goals. It also creates vital networking opportunities for startups and SMEs to connect with international investors and partners.
The summit serves as a platform for public and private stakeholders to align on key tech development goals. It also creates vital networking opportunities for startups and SMEs to connect with international investors and partners.
Participants can look forward to the Summit focusing on these five strategic pillars:
- Future Mobility & Smart Transportation

- Future Consumer & Digital Commerce
- Future Building & Safety Emergency Response

In addition to the exhibition, the programme includes ministerial roundtables, an ASEAN Startup-Investor showcase, Future Cities spotlight sessions, and a Leadership Gala Dinner.
Malaysia’s Role as Regional Innovation Catalyst
With strong international participation and livestream projections exceeding 50,000 viewers, the summit further positions Malaysia as a regional enabler of science and technology cooperation. The event will also provide Malaysian startups and innovation-driven SMEs with direct access to global investors and potential international partnerships.

“This summit reflects Malaysia’s ambition to lead regional innovation, strategic partnerships, emerging technologies, and inclusive growth,” said YB Dato’ Haji Mohammad Yusof, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation. “It supports MOSTI’s mission to transition Malaysia from a technology user into a global technology developer by 2030, while reinforcing our ASEAN Chairmanship priorities.”
Championing Inclusive Innovation and Gender Equity
Crucially, the summit is also part of the broader WE2025 initiative, Malaysia’s flagship platform to empower women in trade, investment, and leadership. Organisers stressed the importance of inclusive innovation ecosystems that ensure women have equal access to capital, networks, and leadership opportunities in the tech sector.
Additionally, YB Dato’ Haji Mohammad Yusof emphasized the necessity of innovation ecosystems that are inclusive of women:
MOSTI acknowledges that increasing women’s involvement in STEM is both economically and equity-driven. By (i) increasing young women’s and girls’ exposure to STEM, (ii) promoting inclusive workplace environments, and (iii) expanding access to financing, networks, and leadership routes for female innovators and entrepreneurs, platforms such as WE2025 and this summit are essential in reducing the gender gap.

Richard Teo, Executive Chairman of Qube Integrated Malaysia added, “WE2025 champions inclusive economic growth by empowering women in trade, investment, and leadership. While this summit welcomes all participants, it upholds that spirit by ensuring women have meaningful opportunities to lead in tech innovation — a sector where inclusive participation is urgently needed.”
“This summit is not just about building connections — it is about delivering outcomes.”
