KUALA LUMPUR, 2 OCTOBER 2026 - STeP and MATRADE to equip Perak SMEs, cooperatives and social enterprises with practical knowledge to expand into international markets.

The Perak State Government, through the Perak State Entrepreneur Secretariat (STeP), in collaboration with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), will organise Hari Eksport Perak 2026 on 14 October 2026 at Hotel Kinta Riverfront, Ipoh.

The free forum is designed specifically for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), cooperatives and product- and service-based social enterprises in Perak, providing practical guidance to help local businesses assess their potential, strengthen export readiness and expand their reach into international markets.

Participation is limited to two representatives per company.

Building Export Readiness Among Perak Businesses

The initiative brings together MATRADE’s national export development expertise with the expertise of the Majlis Pembangunan Usahawan Perak (MPUP) and the Subcommittee on Market Expansion and Entrepreneurial Services Cluster, with support from key players within Malaysia’s export ecosystem.

Running from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Hari Eksport Perak 2026 will feature six main forum sessions involving government agencies, financial institutions, logistics providers and experienced exporters.

The sessions will cover key areas including:

  • Export readiness and access to financing before entering global markets.
  • Business digitalisation to support international market penetration.
  • Cross-border trade and business resilience.
  • Integration into the supply chains of multinational corporations (MNCs) and mid-tier companies (MTCs).

Helping SMEs Navigate International Markets

The programme places emphasis on three key areas for Perak entrepreneurs: building a strong foundation of export knowledge, improving financial literacy for international trade, and understanding international economic and geopolitical dynamics.

Beyond information sharing and government facilitation, the event will also serve as a strategic platform for entrepreneurs to connect with key players in Malaysia’s export ecosystem.

It will also provide opportunities to identify businesses with potential for further mentoring and follow-up support.
