Huawei Cloud has commercially launched CodeArts Agent in Malaysia, introducing an enterprise-grade artificial intelligence (AI) coding solution designed to help developers handle complex software engineering tasks and accelerate AI-powered software development.
The launch took place during Huawei Cloud AI Boost Day Malaysia, held as part of the inaugural WAIC CONNECT Malaysia 2026. The event also saw Huawei Cloud outline its five-layer structure for Agentic Cloud as it continues to strengthen its enterprise AI capabilities.
CodeArts Agent is designed to support developers throughout the software development process, combining AI-powered coding capabilities with tools for complex enterprise software projects.
Building an Agentic Cloud Foundation
Nicolas Yuan Yu, Executive Vice President of Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Head of Huawei Cloud in Malaysia, said Malaysia is developing into a major data centre and AI hub in Southeast Asia.
“Driven by major cloud and AI players, Malaysia has become Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing data centre and AI hub. Johor and the Klang Valley now account for over 1.5 gigawatts of new AI-ready capacity, surpassing conventional regional hubs and laying the physical foundation for enterprise AI at scale across ASEAN,” he said.
Yuan added that Huawei has invested in Malaysia for more than 25 years and remains committed to supporting the country’s development through its latest cloud and AI capabilities.
Huawei Cloud has developed an end-to-end technology stack covering AI data centre infrastructure (AIDC), Agentic Infrastructure, Model as a Service (MaaS) and agent development platforms.
Together with partners and developers worldwide, Huawei Cloud is also building an Industrial AI Foundry to support the development and deployment of AI across different industries.
CodeArts Agent Brings AI Into Software Development
A key highlight of Huawei Cloud’s AI portfolio, CodeArts Agent provides intelligent coding capabilities including code generation, software development question-and-answer support and automated unit test generation.
The solution is designed for complex software projects and enterprise environments, helping developers streamline development workflows and accelerate software delivery.
For more complex development requirements, CodeArts Agent brings together several capabilities designed to support the wider software development lifecycle.
Its Agent Team consists of 16 specialised agents covering areas including requirements analysis, architecture design, coding, testing, issue resolution and code review. By simulating the collaboration of a professional engineering team, the system can autonomously plan and execute complex, long-duration development tasks.
The platform also incorporates specification-driven development capabilities and more than 30 reusable Huawei engineering skills. These are based on Huawei’s software engineering experience and are translated into AI agent capabilities for enterprise software development.
Understanding Large and Complex Codebases
Another key capability is CodeArts Agent’s deep code understanding, which supports incremental software development.
The solution can understand and retrieve code across tens of millions of lines, giving its AI agents the project context required to extend and update existing software systems more efficiently.
This is designed to help organisations work with complex and established software environments rather than limiting AI coding tools to new or isolated development projects.
Huawei Cloud Gains Recognition for AI Infrastructure
Huawei Cloud has continued to develop its cloud and AI product portfolio as enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence expands.
In July 2026, Gartner named Huawei Cloud a Leader in its 2026 Magic Quadrant for Cloud AI Infrastructure, according to Huawei. The recognition reflects Huawei Cloud’s position in the global cloud AI infrastructure market.
Huawei Cloud’s wider 2026 strategy also includes Agentic Infrastructure, Agentic MaaS and enterprise-grade agent platforms, positioning AI agents as part of a broader cloud infrastructure and software development ecosystem.
Early Bird Programme Offers Three Months’ Access

Alongside the Malaysian launch, Huawei Cloud introduced the CodeArts Agent Early Bird Programme.
Eligible enterprise users will receive three months of complimentary access to the Professional Edition. Enterprises seeking to establish AI-powered, enterprise-grade software development practices can also receive additional support, including one-to-one coaching from local experts and enablement services.
The programme is intended to give Malaysian enterprises an opportunity to explore AI-assisted software development while receiving support in incorporating the technology into their development practices.
Supporting Malaysia’s AI Development
Huawei Cloud said CodeArts Agent will continue to combine its software engineering expertise with advanced AI technologies to provide smarter, more efficient and secure development experiences.
The company aims to support developers and enterprises as they evolve their software engineering models and adopt AI more broadly across development workflows.
Huawei Cloud’s AI services and capabilities have already supported customers across Asia Pacific in moving from cloud migration towards wider AI adoption, with applications focused on improving productivity and responding to changing business needs.
As Malaysia continues to develop its AI ecosystem, Huawei Cloud said it will continue investing in AI innovation and providing a secure, stable and intelligent cloud foundation to support businesses across Asia Pacific.
