KUALA LUMPUR, 14 SEPTEMBER 2026 - CIMB secures three Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, recognising its retail banking, digital SME banking and investment banking capabilities in Malaysia.

CIMB Bank Berhad and CIMB Investment Bank have been recognised for their performance, innovation and customer impact, winning three key awards at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026.

CIMB was named Malaysia’s Best Retail Bank, Malaysia’s Best Digital Bank for SMEs and Malaysia’s Best Investment Bank.

The three awards reflect CIMB’s continued focus on customer-centric financial solutions, digital capabilities and market expertise across its retail, SME and investment banking businesses.

Novan Amirudin, Group Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Group, said the recognition reflected the trust of customers and the dedication of the bank’s teams.

“These recognitions are a testament to the trust of our customers and the dedication of our teams across the Bank. They reaffirm CIMB’s purpose of advancing customers and society by making financial solutions more accessible, relevant and impactful for the people and businesses we serve,” he said.

Strengthening Retail Banking and Wealth Management

In retail banking, CIMB continued to develop its diversified franchise through personalised propositions, digitally enabled customer journeys and stronger engagement across key customer segments.

Revenue and profitability advanced during the year, supported by market share gains across auto finance, credit cards and retail deposits, alongside continued progress in digital sales and customer cross-selling.

The bank also continued to strengthen its wealth proposition through differentiated investment solutions, broader product diversity, Chief Investment Office-led advisory capabilities and enhanced digital wealth platforms.

Momentum was particularly strong within the Preferred segment, reflecting deeper engagement with affluent customers and CIMB’s focus on expanding advisory-led and relationship-based wealth capabilities.

Expanding Digital Banking for SMEs

For small and medium-sized enterprises, CIMB continued to advance digital banking through the launch of CIMB OCTO Biz.

The platform connects account opening, financing and transaction banking through an end-to-end digital journey and has onboarded more than 280,000 customers to date.

CIMB OCTO Biz provides businesses with real-time cash flow visibility alongside access to payments, foreign exchange, trade and financing services.

The bank also expanded financing access through embedded merchant financing with TNG eWallet.

Its SME FlexiCash offering provides flexible financing by using account history and transaction behaviour to determine pre-qualified limits, while linking repayments to a proportion of revenue. This is designed to better support businesses with uneven cash flows.

Investment Banking Leadership Across ASEAN

CIMB Investment Bank’s performance across Malaysia’s equity and debt capital markets, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and bespoke financial advisory services also contributed to its recognition as Malaysia’s Best Investment Bank.

The bank has continued to execute complex transactions across multiple products, sectors and jurisdictions.

In 2025, CIMB Investment Bank secured the number one ranking in Malaysian equity and debt capital markets by deal value and share of wallet.

It also captured the top position in ASEAN equity and debt capital markets by deal value, while its execution of cross-border transactions reinforced its position as a leading M&A and advisory house in ASEAN.

Advancing Customers Through Financial Innovation

The three accolades reinforce CIMB’s brand promise, Moving You Forward, reflecting its continued focus on empowering customers and communities through accessible, inclusive and purpose-driven financial solutions.

The recognition comes as financial institutions increasingly balance traditional banking capabilities with digital innovation and more personalised customer experiences across retail, SME and corporate markets.
