VentureTECH Sdn Bhd (VentureTECH), a government-backed impact investment company, has announced RM28 million in strategic investments in three Bumiputera-led high-growth, high-value (HGHV) technology companies as part of efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s innovation ecosystem and technological capabilities.
The investments in Move Robotic Sdn Bhd, Recove Group Sdn Bhd and Edote Sdn Bhd were announced during an Investment Agreement Signing Ceremony held at Pulse Grande Hotel, Putrajaya.
Each company offers differentiated technologies, scalable business models and strong commercial potential, with innovations spanning industrial automation, healthcare technology and digital inclusion.
Together, the investments are intended to strengthen Malaysia’s industrial competitiveness, technological capabilities and long-term economic resilience while supporting the aspirations of the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035 (PuTERA35).
Supporting High-Growth Bumiputera Technology Companies

Commenting on the investments, Azizan Jaafar, Chief Executive Officer of VentureTECH, said the company seeks to invest in businesses developing innovative technologies that address real-world challenges and strengthen strategic industries.
“At VentureTECH, we invest in companies with innovative technologies that solve real-world challenges, strengthen strategic industries and have the potential to scale sustainably. Move Robotic, Recove and Edote exemplify the kind of Bumiputera companies we seek to support; companies that combine innovation with strong commercial potential while delivering meaningful socio-economic impact.”
He added that VentureTECH’s role extends beyond providing capital, with the company working alongside investee companies to strengthen capabilities, unlock new market opportunities and support sustainable growth.
“Through these investments, we are not only supporting promising businesses but also contributing to Malaysia’s long-term economic resilience and the aspirations of the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035 (PuTERA35),” he said.
Move Robotic Advances Industrial Automation
As industries accelerate the adoption of automation, businesses increasingly require locally integrated, end-to-end solutions that can improve productivity, efficiency and workplace safety.
Move Robotic provides a complete warehouse and logistics automation ecosystem integrating Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), autonomous material-handling solutions, Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and pallet shuttle systems.
These technologies are integrated with the company’s proprietary Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Robot Fleet Manager (RFM).
Rather than supplying standalone equipment, Move Robotic combines robotics, storage automation and software into a single end-to-end solution.
Through its Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) model, customers can adopt the technology through a bundled subscription, supporting implementation while reducing upfront investment requirements.
The model aims to make industrial automation more accessible and scalable, positioning Move Robotic to become the first Malaysian provider of a fully bundled RaaS solution.
Recove Accelerates Healthcare Technology Commercialisation
Recove is a Med-Tech commercialisation platform focused on transforming research-driven healthcare innovations into market-ready medical technologies.
The company works closely with universities, researchers and medical specialists to bridge the gap between research and commercialisation, helping turn promising innovations into scalable healthcare solutions.
Recove has already successfully commercialised NEORUBIN®, a non-invasive newborn jaundice screening device, and is currently advancing additional medical technologies through its growing innovation pipeline.
The partnership with VentureTECH is expected to accelerate product commercialisation and help more Malaysian-developed healthcare technologies reach hospitals, healthcare providers and patients.
Edote Expands Digital Accessibility Through Assistive Technology
Malaysian assistive technology company Edote focuses on improving digital accessibility for the visually impaired community.
The company developed eBrelle, described as the first standalone Braille laptop in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. The device enables visually impaired users to access, create and interact with digital content independently.
By integrating proprietary hardware, software and accessibility-focused applications into a single platform, Edote aims to reduce barriers to education, employment and digital participation.
With VentureTECH’s support, the company is positioned to expand its manufacturing capabilities, strengthen its product portfolio and bring its home-grown assistive technology to more users across Malaysia and the region.
Strengthening Malaysia’s Innovation Ecosystem
The Investment Agreement Signing Ceremony was witnessed by Datuk Ir. Khalilur Rahman Ebrahim, Chairman of VentureTECH; Ts. Rushdi Abdul Rahim, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT); Dr Haji Hisham Kamal Othman Kamal, Deputy Director 2 (Bumiputera Development), Equity Development Division, Ministry of Economy; and Puan Rafea’ah Haji Nahar, Under Secretary – Strategic Planning Division, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI).
The investments reflect VentureTECH’s continued commitment to supporting Bumiputera technology companies with the ambition and capability to compete at regional and global levels.
By backing technologies that address real-world challenges, VentureTECH aims to strengthen Malaysia’s innovation ecosystem while creating sustainable socio-economic value for the country.
The investments in industrial automation, healthcare innovation and assistive technology also highlight the potential of home-grown technology companies to contribute to Malaysia’s long-term industrial competitiveness and economic resilience.
