PETALING JAYA, 22 June 2026 – PJ Comedy Fest 2026 will bring together 29 comedians and 11 young performers across nine productions, offering audiences five days of stand-up comedy, improv, storytelling and theatre from 29 July to 2 August 2026 at DeStage, The Square, Jaya One.
Presented by DeStage in collaboration with Kam Productions, the inaugural festival showcases performances in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and Tamil, reflecting the diversity of Malaysia’s comedy scene.
Comedy Across Languages and Formats

The festival programme spans multiple comedy styles, from stand-up performances and improvisational comedy to storytelling showcases and theatrical productions.
Leading the programme is the Comedy Gala, featuring Joanne Kam, Shamaine Othman, Kavin Jay, Andrew Netto, Papi Zak, Fattah Azeem, Ruoh Peng and Mad Sabah.
The festival also features performances by Kuah Jenhan, Farid Azmeir, K-Shao, Jasmine Rajah, Brian Tan, Prakash Daniel and Keren Bala Devan, alongside the Pinball Monkeys improv troupe.
Each production offers audiences a different comedy experience while highlighting the range of performers active within Malaysia’s live comedy community.
Supporting Emerging Performers

Alongside established comedians, PJ Comedy Fest provides a platform for 11 young performers, giving newer talents the opportunity to perform before festival audiences and share the stage with more experienced comedians.
The festival aims to introduce audiences to emerging voices while supporting the continued development of Malaysia’s live comedy scene.
Closing with Theatre
The festival concludes with a family-friendly production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream by EM Drama, adding a theatrical finale to the five-day programme.
Beyond the Performances
Festival-goers can also visit the Artsy Fartsy Marketplace, which runs throughout the festival period, alongside food and beverage offerings available at The Square.
Rockafellers will offer 15% off à la carte food to PJ Comedy Fest ticket holders during the festival, while participating tenants including La Chica, IPPUDO, Tommy Thongchai, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Starbucks, Bold Burger Crispy Chicken and Luckin Coffee will also introduce promotional offers.

PJ Comedy Fest 2026 spans five days (29 July to 2 August 2026) and features nine unique shows spread across two stages operating simultaneously on select nights. The Studio
An intimate studio performance space ideal for solo acts, storytelling. The studio can also be used for rehearsal space, small launches, wellness & other activities that require a sizable space with mirrors. Shows in the Studio create a close-up, personal connection between the performer and audience. Capacity :100 pax
The Main Hall
A larger-capacity main stage venue suited for group shows, panel performances, and the grand Comedy Gala. The Main Hall provides the energy and scale befitting bigger ensemble productions. Capacity : 480 pax
