Selangor is set to host the 10th edition of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026, positioning the annual event as a major platform for regional trade, investment cooperation and technological advancement across ASEAN.
Taking place from 14 to 17 October 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), the milestone edition is expected to bring together international policymakers, investors, multinational corporations and local enterprises as Selangor seeks to reinforce its position as Malaysia’s economic powerhouse.
Anchored firmly in the Rancangan Selangor Kedua (RS-2) blueprint, SIBS 2026 is designed to catalyse core industries, attract high-value investments and drive sustainable technological advancement across the region.
Building Selangor as an ASEAN Model State
For Selangor, the summit is about more than facilitating business connections. It forms part of the state’s broader ambition to build an economy that delivers sustainable and equitable growth.
YB Tuan Ng Sze Han, Selangor State Executive Council for Investment, Trade & Mobility, said the summit was centred on a clear long-term objective.
“Everything we are building, negotiating and facilitating through this summit is engineered to achieve one clear, defining goal: Selangor as the ASEAN Model State for Equitable Growth and Quality of Life for All by 2030.”
The 2026 edition marks a decade of SIBS connecting businesses and fostering cross-border expansion. This year’s summit is billed as its most ambitious edition yet, supported by a group of longstanding co-organisers.
These include Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), a valued partner since 2019, alongside the Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec), Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre Shah Alam (STDCx) and Wanita Berdaya Selangor (WBS).
Seven Platforms to Showcase Selangor’s Economic Potential
Running from 14 to 17 October, SIBS 2026 will feature a curated suite of concurrent programmes covering investment, trade, technology, manufacturing, healthcare and talent development.
The Selangor ASEAN Business Conference (SABC) will serve as a premier platform for regional thought leadership, bringing together international policymakers and featuring a Special Address by the World Bank.
Meanwhile, the Selangor Investment Forum (SIF) will host high-level seminars offering insights intended to shape the state’s multi-sectoral investment ecosystem.
The Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo (SPARK) will showcase advanced, investment-ready manufacturing ecosystems, highlighting opportunities for businesses and investors seeking to establish or expand their regional operations.
Technology will also take centre stage through the Selangor AI and Semiconductor Summit (AiSEM@Selangor), which will focus on high-tech manufacturing and Integrated Circuit (IC) Design as Selangor seeks to strengthen its global position in the semiconductor industry.
The Selangor International Care Expo (SICE) will address the growing economic potential of the care industry against the backdrop of demographic shifts.
At the same time, the Selangor Techsphere Summit (STS) will spotlight frontier developments in enterprise digitalisation and smart city applications.
The seventh platform, the Selangor Career Outreach Talent Expo (SCOUT), will focus on human capital development by connecting and upskilling local talent to meet evolving industry demand.
Together, these programmes are intended to provide a broad platform for businesses and investors to explore opportunities across Selangor’s increasingly diverse economic landscape.
EU-Malaysia Business Day to Spotlight Investment Opportunities
Adding to the summit’s international focus, the Delegation of the European Union to Malaysia will host the third edition of the EU-Malaysia Business Day on 13 October 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, in conjunction with SIBS.
Previously held successfully in Sarawak and Penang, the annual flagship event will focus on Selangor this year. It is being organised in close collaboration with the Selangor State Government, Invest Selangor and EUROCHAM Malaysia.
Held under the theme “Bridging Innovation – Powering Progress”, the EU-Malaysia Business Day aims to strengthen business ties and unlock further investment opportunities involving the substantial EU business presence in Malaysia.
More than 550 EU companies currently operate in Selangor, generating a combined annual revenue of more than RM51 billion. The event will therefore place particular emphasis on high-growth and high-value sectors, including advanced manufacturing, the green transition, digitalisation and logistics.
European and Malaysian Business Leaders to Gather in Kuala Lumpur
The event will feature H.E. Jozef Síkela, European Commissioner for International Partnerships, who will deliver the Keynote Address alongside senior Malaysian Government representatives.
Around 700 participants are expected to attend, including EU and Malaysian business leaders, representatives from European chambers of commerce, Ambassadors from more than 15 EU Member States and Selangor State Government officials.
With both SIBS and the EU-Malaysia Business Day placing investment, innovation and cross-border collaboration at the centre of their programmes, the events are expected to provide businesses with opportunities to build connections and explore new avenues for growth.
