Kuala Lumpur, 9 February 2026 – Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have begun submitting applications for programmes under the Thirteenth Malaysia Plan (13MP) for 2026, administered by SME Corp. Malaysia, an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP).

The application process was highlighted during a sharing session by YBrs. Rizal bin Dato’ Nainy, Chief Executive Officer of SME Corp. Malaysia, together with MSMEs, as well as representatives from associations and chambers of commerce. The session was held during Hari Terbuka Hab PMKS on 29 January 2026 at SME Corp. Malaysia, Platinum Sentral, Kuala Lumpur.

Under the 13MP (2026–2030), the MSME scaling-up agenda has been outlined to upgrade the size of MSMEs from micro to small and subsequently to medium.

“A total of RM117 million has been allocated for SME Corp. Malaysia to implement eight programmes for MSMEs covering aspects of high growth and inclusivity. MSME scaling-up is a key Government agenda in efforts to accelerate economic growth as well as to build a more resilient and competitive MSME ecosystem. The target is to increase the number of medium-sized firms from 1.6% to 5% by 2030, which is expected to be able to boost MSME GDP contribution to up to RM1 trillion,” said Rizal.

Hari Terbuka Hab PMKS is one of the initiatives implemented to enhance the role of SME Corp. Malaysia as the main reference centre for information and business advisory services for MSMEs. Since its implementation in January 2024, the initiative has benefited more than 100 MSMEs each month through strategic collaboration involving various related Ministries and Government Agencies, as well as the private sector.
