The Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) brought the retail and business community together once again for a good cause at the MRCA Charity Golf & Dinner 2025, held on 11 July at Bangi Golf Resort. The event proved to be more than just a networking opportunity – it was a heartfelt show of solidarity in support of education and community upliftment.
With 80 golfers teeing off and over 150 guests attending the evening gala, the event combined friendly competition with meaningful fundraising. All proceeds from the day were directed toward the MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation, reaffirming MRCA’s longstanding commitment to giving back to society.
Funds raised from the event will support the Foundation’s ongoing programmes, underscoring its dedication to social responsibility and uplifting communities.
Golf Swings That Make a Difference
“Beyond fostering industry ties, tonight is a celebration of our collective responsibility to uplift communities,” said MRCA President Datuk Dr Ken Phua. “Every swing today echoes our pledge to education and compassion.”
Established in 2010 with RM1 million in initial funds, the MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation focuses on three core areas:
- Educational assistance for deserving students
- Medical aid for vulnerable groups
- Financial support for the underprivileged
Charitable Highlights and Auction Contributions
During the dinner, Foundation Founder Chairman Dato’ Tay Sim Kim highlighted the impact of MRCA’s ongoing charitable initiatives:
“Building on the success of our Chinese New Year Gala Dinner, all proceeds raised today, including those from tonight’s silent charity auction, will go directly to selected homes and charitable initiatives in urgent need, further supporting underprivileged communities and educational programs through our foundation.”

The event was made possible through the generous support of its corporate partners and sponsors, including:
