KUALA LUMPUR, 27 November 2025 – The Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) successfully hosted a Trade Networking Visit for 37 prominent Chinese buyers from 25 to 27 November 2025. Representing major food and non-food sectors across China, the delegation participated in a series of engagements aimed at expanding Malaysian palm oil exports and reinforcing confidence in Malaysia’s palm oil supply chain.
Across four days, the group visited key plantation and refinery facilities, gaining first-hand insights into Malaysia’s sustainable and high-quality production ecosystem. Delegates also met with Malaysian suppliers and industry leaders to explore market opportunities. They further participated in a dedicated BizMatch session, where the buyers engaged directly with key Malaysian suppliers to discuss sourcing needs and strengthen commercial linkages.
A key highlight of the visit was an Industry Dialogue with YB Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, Minister of Plantation and Commodities, Malaysia. The dialogue served as an important platform for open discussion on market trends, supply reliability, pricing expectations, and the evolving needs of Chinese industries.
Commenting on the programme, MPOC CEO Ms. Belvinder Sron said the trade networking visit was a key component of MPOC’s efforts to strengthen trade collaboration and provide international buyers with direct exposure to Malaysia’s palm oil value chain. She noted that the engagements enabled delegates to better understand Malaysia’s commitment to delivering sustainable, reliable, and high-quality supply to China. As one of Malaysia’s most strategic export destinations, she emphasised the importance of such platforms in responding to evolving demand, building closer buyer engagement, and supporting Malaysia’s efforts to regain export momentum in the Chinese market.
During the dialogue, YB Datuk Seri Johari reaffirmed Malaysia’s strong commitment to China as a valued strategic partner. He highlighted the importance of continuous and constructive engagement to strengthen market confidence, align expectations, and identify opportunities for long-term cooperation. The Minister emphasised Malaysia’s focus on transparent and predictable export policies, enhanced supply reliability, and deeper government-to-business and business-to-business collaboration, particularly across the edible oils, food manufacturing, oleochemical, and renewable energy sectors.
Participants expressed strong appreciation for MPOC’s well-structured programme, noting the value of direct engagement and clearer understanding of Malaysia’s sustainability practices and long-term supply capabilities.
MPOC reiterated its commitment to advancing Malaysia–China trade relations and will continue to expand market development initiatives, support industry partnerships, and strengthen Malaysia’s position as a global leader in sustainable palm oil.
