Kuala Lumpur, 25 November 2025 — A significant milestone was achieved today as the National Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Malaysia (NAWEM) and the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance (BRICS WBA) formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the BRICS WBA Regional Office in Malaysia.

The MoU exchange was witnessed by Her Royal Highness Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin, Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Economy, the fourth President of the Republic of Kosovo, Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Qube Integrated Malaysia, with more than 500 distinguished guests during the opening ceremony of WE2025 : Future in Motion.

The three-day event organised by Qube Integrated Malaysia, featuring a leadership conference, trade exposition, side events, and business matching, will take place from 25 to 27 November 2025.

This partnership between NAWEM — Malaysia’s first multiracial women entrepreneurs association established in 1993 — and BRICS WBA — founded in 2020 during Russia’s BRICS chairship — is rooted in shared values and a mutual commitment to advancing women’s economic participation. It aims to cultivate meaningful, responsible, and sustainability-driven collaborations among women in business.

As NAWEM becomes the sole partner of BRICS WBA in Malaysia, the newly established Regional Office will serve as a strategic platform to strengthen and expand economic relations between women entrepreneurs from BRICS countries and Malaysia. It will facilitate market access, encourage cross-border opportunities, and promote the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best practices among women leaders.

NAWEM and BRICS WBA were represented by Ms. Saliza Abdullah, Deputy President of NAWEM who also serves as the Co-Chair of the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network (AWEN) Malaysia, and Ms. Anna Nesterova, Chairperson of the Russian Chapter of BRICS WBA.

The MoU exchange marks an important step forward for NAWEM and Malaysia in deepening international cooperation and championing women’s economic empowerment beyond ASEAN.
