Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Pahang will have an opportunity to explore international markets through Export Day Pahang 2026, scheduled for 26 October at Hotel Grand Darul Makmur in Kuantan.
The programme is organised by the Pahang State Government through the Pahang State Economic Planning Division (BPEN), in collaboration with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). It aims to attract 200 local entrepreneurs, particularly MSMEs seeking practical export knowledge, guidance on entering overseas markets and information on available support facilities within Malaysia’s export ecosystem.
Pahang Businesses Encouraged to Tap Export Opportunities
With Malaysia’s total trade exceeding RM3.06 trillion, MATRADE is looking to build on Pahang’s export performance, which reached RM38.46 billion in 2025.
Export Day Pahang 2026 is intended to help local companies identify opportunities to expand their international presence and strengthen the state’s position in global trade.
The programme will provide entrepreneurs with greater awareness of overseas market opportunities, alongside practical insights into the requirements and support available to businesses looking to begin or grow their export activities.
Expanding Pahang’s Exporter Network
As of September 2026, 146 companies in Pahang were registered under MATRADE’s Malaysian Exporters Registry (MER).
MATRADE views this as a foundation for further growth, with opportunities for more local entrepreneurs to register, access export advisory services and participate in international trade.
By encouraging wider participation in the export ecosystem, the programme aims to increase the number of Pahang businesses reaching overseas markets and strengthen the state’s export momentum.
Building More Competitive, Export-Ready MSMEs
Export Day Pahang 2026 supports the state government’s efforts to develop more competitive, export-oriented entrepreneurs in line with Pahang’s economic and business development aspirations.
Through the programme, local MSMEs will gain knowledge and insights into international market opportunities, as well as exposure to support services offered by government agencies and private-sector institutions.
These resources are intended to help businesses strengthen their export readiness and scale their products and services for international markets.
MATRADE said it remains confident that Pahang has many businesses with the potential to compete globally, provided they receive sustained support through Malaysia’s national trade ecosystem.
Export Day Programme Covers Perak and Pahang
Export Day 2026 is being held in two states as part of efforts to strengthen local businesses’ access to export opportunities.
Perak hosted its programme on 14 October 2026, followed by Pahang’s upcoming event on 26 October in Kuantan.
Through these initiatives, MATRADE and state-level partners aim to help more local MSMEs understand the export process, access available support and pursue growth beyond Malaysia’s domestic market.
