KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 2025 – Malaysia’s retail landscape is undergoing a major transformation as micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) embrace hybrid retail models by integrating TikTok Shop into their business strategies. From roadside stalls and pasar malam vendors to shopping mall tenants, local entrepreneurs are turning to TikTok Shop’s full-funnel ecosystem to unlock growth, expand reach, and future-proof their businesses.
Fueled by robust public-private support and nationwide internet infrastructure, even the smallest enterprises now have unprecedented access to digital tools that help bridge physical and online commerce.

“Retailers no longer see e-commerce and physical stores as separate. The future is about combining clicks with bricks to drive sustainable growth,” said a TikTok Shop spokesperson.
Among those leading the charge is Nik Nur Adzuan, co-founder of Al-Cataly, a Shariah-compliant attire and Hajj & Umrah needs business. After struggling to scale her physical store in Kota Damansara, Selangor, Nik turned to TikTok Shop. With access to training and livestream facilities via the TikTok Shop LIVE Hub x TEKUN Nasional, her brand grew nearly 10,000 followers in two months and saw a 12x increase in sales. Customers from across Malaysia and Singapore now visit her store in person thanks to her online presence.

Similarly, Kamarul Zaman, founder of local durian brand Pak Ali, transitioned from selling at roadside stalls to livestreaming durian unboxings on TikTok Shop. This not only helped prevent product waste but also built a loyal customer base of over 24,000 followers, averaging 1,500kg of durians sold daily. The brand has since expanded into event catering.
Frisha Fazara Binti Ishak, co-manager of Frisha Classic Desserts and Bakery, helped reinvent her family’s business that once relied solely on seasonal bazaars. With shoppable videos and livestreams, their online sales now consistently reach five-digit figures monthly and have attracted event bookings and customer loyalty both online and offline.
These success stories highlight the growing trend of hybrid commerce and reinforce TikTok Shop’s role in empowering Malaysian entrepreneurs to scale with confidence.
“As more local businesses embrace digital tools to complement physical retail, TikTok Shop remains committed to helping MSMEs unlock new income streams and deepen customer engagement,” the spokesperson added.
