Klang– Junior Chamber International Entrepreneur Metropolitan Kuala Lumpur (JCI EMKL) carried out its 2026 charity initiative with children from Good Samaritan Home, as smiles and laughter filled the air during a meaningful day out organised for the children.

The annual programme was organised by JCI EMKL and led by organising chair Jacky Lee Junn Yuen, with the initiative aimed at empowering underprivileged children by allowing them to make their own choices.

Unlike traditional donation drives where items are pre-selected, the children were given the freedom to choose their own clothing and daily essentials, a gesture that carried significant meaning. The initiative was supported by Pusat Pakaian Hari-Hari, which came on board as the official clothes discount sponsor, enabling the children to enjoy a comfortable and inclusive shopping experience.

The programme concluded with meals sponsored by KFC Malaysia, allowing volunteers and children to share conversations and laughter over food, further strengthening the spirit of togetherness.

Jacky expressed gratitude to the sponsors, volunteers and JCI EMKL members whose collective efforts ensured the smooth execution of the programme.

“This initiative is about restoring confidence and dignity. When children are given the opportunity to choose for themselves, it builds self-esteem and reminds them that their voices matter,” he said.

Members of JCI EMKL were actively involved in coordinating logistics and accompanying the children throughout the activity, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to active citizenship and community development.

Through initiatives such as this, JCI EMKL continues to champion youth-led efforts that create positive and lasting impact within the community, particularly for children who need encouragement and support.
