The launch event was officiated by Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry (MITI), YB Tuan Sim Tze Tzin.
“The launch of the JAECOO J5 is not just about a new car on our roads; it is a testament to the growing confidence global players have in Malaysia’s industrial ecosystem,” he said.
“MITI is accelerating efforts to transform Malaysia’s automotive industry into a hub for higher-value manufacturing, electric vehicles, and export-led growth under the New Industrial Master Plan 2030,” he added.
Head of OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia, Chris Tan, said the new model broadens the company’s portfolio to reach a different segment of drivers.
“Offering class-leading refinement, advanced driver assistance technology, premium comfort and a refined driving experience, the JAECOO J5 is designed for the ‘Urban Explorer’ in all of us,” he said.
“Broadening our model lineup to reach a new segment of drivers—individuals and families seeking versatility, comfort and sophistication—the JAECOO J5 delivers freedom for everyday urban life and weekend adventures, without leaving your world behind,” he added.
Launch Package and Warranty
At launch, OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia introduced a Special Launch Package valid from 5 to 15 March 2026.
The package included a Duit Raya rebate of RM3,000, complimentary first-year insurance or an additional RM3,000 rebate, as well as a J5 Car Accessories Trio Package valued at RM2,000. The accessory bundle included a subwoofer, a wireless karaoke microphone, and a multi-functional flashlight.
All JAECOO J5 models are covered by a seven-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, whichever comes first.
Initial Deliveries
During the launch event, the company handed over the first five JAECOO J5 vehicles to customers. OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia said it is working with authorised dealerships nationwide to accelerate deliveries to customers nationwide.
The JAECOO J5 is now available for test drives at authorised dealerships nationwide.
