Event continues to elevate café culture and local food sourcing in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, 19 May 2025 – The International Café & Beverage Show (ICBS) and MyFood 2025 concluded on a high note with a record-breaking 12,667 visitors over three vibrant days at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The event once again cemented its position as the definitive showcase for Malaysia’s thriving café scene, beverage innovation, and the country’s growing commitment to sustainable and locally sourced food systems.
The official opening was graced by YBhg. Datuk Isham Ishak, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, who led the VIP delegation through the exhibition floor. His presence underscored the government’s dedication to strengthening Malaysia’s agri-food ecosystem and long-term food security strategies.
Celebrating Excellence: Champions of Coffee and Halal Mixology
A major draw of ICBS 2025 was the Malaysia Open Coffee Championship, where top baristas from across the nation battled for prestigious titles. The champions for 2025 are:
- Ryan Chan (Curate Coffee Roasters) – Malaysia Open Barista Champion
- Chang Wee Jiat (Afloat Coffee Roaster) – Latte Art Champion
- Lian Hong Soon (103 Coffee) – Brewers Cup Champion

In a historic first, Eciatto Group Sdn Bhd introduced the Eciatto Halal Mixology Competition, drawing enthusiastic crowds and showcasing local talent in alcohol-free mixology. The winners were:
- 🥇 Azarya Sukau (Whisky House KL)
- 🥈 Naseeb Nassan Berin (Bella Pasta & Wine TTDI)
- 🥉 Gary Loco (Trinidad Cigar Club)
MyFood Champions Local Food Sourcing & Sustainability
Running alongside ICBS, MyFood 2025 delivered a strong message in support of the slow food movement and local sourcing. The two-day MyFood Conference featured expert speakers from the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysian Pepper Board, Malaysia Cocoa Board, Kearney Southeast Asia, and more.
Topics ranged from sustainable sourcing and food security to health impacts of local diets, providing attendees with vital insights on shaping a resilient and self-sustaining food system in Malaysia.
