KUALA LUMPUR, 19 NOVEMBER 2025 – The Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) is proud to announce that its President, Professor Emeritus Datuk Ts. Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah binti Tapsir, has been honoured with the prestigious SME TOKOH Award by the ASEAN International Fair for Trade in Services 2025 (AIFTIS 2025) at the Gala Dinner & Award Ceremony held at the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Kuala Lumpur on 18 November 2025. The award was presented by Dato’ Sri Ir. Zohari bin Haji Akob, President of Malaysian Service Providers Confederation (MSPC).

The SME TOKOH Award recognises trailblazers who have driven Malaysia’s SMEs forward through visionary leadership, innovation, and a commitment to competitiveness and sustainability at both national and international levels.

Datuk Ts. Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah, former Secretary General of MOSTI, has been a transformative leader in Malaysia’s education, talent development, and governance, notably through her pivotal role in the COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF). She continues to lead UCSI University with a forward-looking vision, driving growth and enhancing its national and regional standing.

Under her leadership, MBOT has strengthened its national role by championing professional recognition and accreditation frameworks, bridging industry and academia, and enabling SMEs to access a skilled talent pipeline.

Her strategic contributions have elevated Malaysia’s technological ecosystem, advanced talent development, and positioned the nation on global platforms such as the Seoul Accord through enhanced competency standards and professional certification programmes.
