KUALA LUMPUR, 19 NOVEMBER 2025Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) has held its flagship Malaysian e-Payments Excellence Awards (MEEA) 2025, themed “Leading Progress, Recognising Impact”. This year’s MEEA recognised 30 recipients across 22 award categories for their exceptional leadership, innovation and impact in shaping Malaysia’s digital payments ecosystem. Honourees included financial institutions, businesses, fintech’s, and, for the first time, media outlets.

Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Governor Dato’ Sri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour attended the ceremony as the guest of honour, underscoring the shared commitment across the industry. The awards night at The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur highlighted the collective effort that underpins Malaysia’s digital payments progress.

As the backbone of Malaysia’s payments infrastructure, PayNet works closely with BNM and industry players to advance cashless adoption through a secure and inclusive e-payment ecosystem. This cooperation has driven key milestones, including the number of DuitNow QR touchpoints now surpassing 2.9 million nationwide, making e-payments more accessible for consumers and small businesses.

“Malaysia’s digital payments ecosystem has advanced rapidly, powered by industry-wide collaboration. In 2024, PayNet processed transactions worth almost four times Malaysia’s gross domestic product, reflecting the scale and trust the ecosystem has built together. The Malaysian e-Payments Excellence Awards 2025 recognises the very organisations that have helped make digital payments the norm for Malaysians everywhere,” said Farhan Ahmad, Group Chief Executive Officer of PayNet.

This year’s winners reflect the industry leaders driving real progress on the ground by improving digital payment services, strengthening trust, and accelerating cashless adoption while raising the bar for innovation.
