Selangor, 10 March 2026– The Outreach and e-Commerce Training Program under the Cross-Border e-Commerce Development Program (eBizLink 2.0), organised in Sepang, Selangor on 4 March 2026, successfully attracted the participation of more than 160 local entrepreneurs, surpassing the initial target of around 120 participants.

Organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, the program was supported by strategic partners including Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation, Platform Selangor, Wanita Berdaya Selangor and Majlis Perbandaran Sepang. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen the readiness of Malaysian entrepreneurs to expand their businesses into international markets through digital trade.

The program featured several key segments aimed at equipping entrepreneurs with practical knowledge on global e-commerce. These included briefings on cross-border e-Commerce and international logistics, guidance sessions on starting a business on global e-Commerce platforms, and success story sharing sessions from entrepreneurs who have successfully expanded their businesses beyond domestic markets.

Among the speakers were Choong Jee Von from Fipper Marketing Sdn Bhd and Mazliana Binti Tahir, founder of the brand Chocotainer. Both entrepreneurs shared their experiences in expanding their businesses across the state and entering international markets through e-Commerce platforms, offering valuable insights to participants who are exploring digital trade opportunities.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of MATRADE, Abu Bakar Yusof, the strong response to the program reflects the growing interest among entrepreneurs in Selangor to leverage digital platforms as a driver of business growth.

“Programs like this have successfully provided significant exposure to entrepreneurs regarding the diversity of digital technologies, including cross-border marketing. It enables local products not only to be marketed domestically, but also to penetrate global markets,” he said when officiating the Closing Ceremony of the Selangor State Digital Literacy Program 2026 and the launch of the eBizLink 2.0 Program in Sepang.

The Selangor State Digital Literacy Program 2026 marks the inaugural initiative organised by MATRADE through eBizLink 2.0, which is among the high-impact programs under the Rancangan Malaysia Ke-13 (2026–2030). The initiative aims to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to adopt cross-border e-commerce as part of their growth strategy.

“Throughout 2026, under the eBizLink 2.0 initiative, MATRADE has planned the implementation of eleven cross-border e-Commerce export promotion programs as well as five digital trade capability empowerment programs specifically for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country,” he added.

The initiative aligns with the aspirations of the MADANI Government to produce more globally competitive export entrepreneurs, while strengthening Malaysia’s position as a regional digital economy hub and enhancing the resilience of the national economy in the era of digitalisation.
