KUALA LUMPUR, 6 May 2025 – CTOS SME Biz Day 2025 officially kicked off in Kuala Lumpur, drawing nearly 1,000 attendees and setting a strong precedent for small and medium enterprise (SME) growth through digital transformation and innovation. Organised by CTOS Digital Berhad, Malaysia’s largest private credit reporting agency, the event was officiated by Yang Berhormat Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital.
Now in its third year, CTOS SME Biz Day—led by the CTOS for Business division—reaffirms CTOS’s ongoing commitment to supporting Malaysia’s SME ecosystem. The event convened government representatives, industry leaders, business owners, and entrepreneurs, facilitating impactful discussions and knowledge sharing to empower SMEs in an evolving digital landscape.
“Today, we find ourselves in a dynamic and competitive market that presents both opportunities and challenges. For businesses in Malaysia to rise to the occasion, digitalisation is key,” said YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo during his opening address. “Together, let’s build a future where Malaysian SMEs are not only competitive, but also leaders in the global digital field.”

The event featured two panel discussions focusing on SME scalability and adaptability:
- Scaling SMEs: Unlocking Growth in Capital, Finance, Digital & Global Expansion – Panelists from SME Corp, MATRADE, MDEC, and SAMENTA shared strategies for SMEs to harness capital, financial resources, and digital tools to expand regionally and internationally. The discussion underscored the power of partnerships and leveraging the gig economy to streamline operations and boost productivity.
- Winning Through Agility: Lessons from Successful Entrepreneurs – Prominent entrepreneurs from Mydin, BloomThis, Montigo, ZUS Coffee, and Anjoe Raw Beaute provided firsthand insights on building resilient, agile brands. The session highlighted the use of social media, e-commerce, and innovation as catalysts for growth in a competitive, fast-paced market.
A dynamic sharing session by Khairy Jamaluddin, co-host of Keluar Sekejap, and Lee Shin Mei, COO of CTOS Data Systems, also captivated attendees. Khairy highlighted the critical role of resilient leadership in steering SMEs through economic uncertainties while balancing strategic foresight and hands-on execution.
