KUALA LUMPUR — Dr. Chin Chee Seong, National President of the SME Association of Malaysia, recently met with Dato’ Muzaffar Hisham, Group CEO of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB), to explore ways to strengthen collaboration and enhance the growth potential of small and medium enterprises.


During the meeting, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on the current challenges and opportunities facing SMEs and reached preliminary agreements on future cooperation. They also agreed to establish a quarterly communication mechanism and open additional channels for engagement to ensure information sharing and resource integration, fostering collaboration across policy, financing, and enterprise development.


Dato’ Muzaffar highlighted that BPMB will provide financial support and professional services to help SMEs achieve sustainable growth.

“We are committed to working hand in hand with the SME Association to create an ecosystem conducive to business growth, enabling more SMEs to access financial and resource support for steady development,” he said.


Dr. Chin Chee Seong emphasized that continuous communication and strategic cooperation are crucial for enhancing the global competitiveness of Malaysian SMEs. “This meeting not only strengthens the strategic partnership between the Association and the Bank but also provides a more robust support platform for SMEs. We look forward to enhancing enterprise innovation and international competitiveness through sustained collaboration,” he added.


The meeting marks a new milestone in the development of Malaysian SMEs, with both parties committed to exploring more practical cooperation initiatives to help SMEs achieve greater success in both domestic and international markets.
