KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, 13 January 2026 — AGIBOT, a robotics company specialising in embodied intelligence, marked the start of a series of strategic initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region in 2026 with a landmark launch event held in Malaysia. The event took place at i-City, Selangor, and was attended by AGIBOT’s senior leadership team, Malaysian government officials, partners, customers, and media representatives.

The launch reinforced AGIBOT’s long-term commitment to building partnerships and advancing automation in Malaysia and across the region. It also reflected the company’s broader ambition to bring mass production and the practical use of embodied robotics to customers throughout the Asia Pacific.

Founded in 2023 with the ambition of building robots for the AGI era, AGIBOT focused on developing embodied intelligent robots capable of learning, adapting, and evolving in real-world environments, rather than creating single-purpose machines. In 2025, the company achieved several milestones that underscored its leadership in humanoid robotics and embodied intelligence, including the rollout of its 5,168th mass-produced humanoid robot, demonstrating industrial-grade manufacturing capability and large-scale commercial readiness.

AGIBOT also advanced embodied AI through real-world reinforcement learning, enabling robots to be trained and deployed directly in physical production environments. These developments resulted in AGIBOT being ranked No. 1 globally by Omdia. According to Omdia’s General-Purpose Embodied Intelligent Robot 2026 report, AGIBOT ranked No. 1 worldwide in humanoid robot shipments and market share in 2025, shipping over 5,100 units and capturing 39% of the global market.

“AGIBOT made significant strides to improve the mass production and the practical use of embodied robotics last year. This was capped off at the end of last year when we rolled out our 5,000th mass-produced humanoid robots. This milestone, along with others, puts AGIBOT in a strong position as we start 2026,” said Deng Taihua, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of AGIBOT. “Today’s AGIBOT launch event in Malaysia is an example of our commitment to bring mass production and the practical use of embodied robotics to customers in this region.”

The launch event also marked the grand opening of the AI World Experience Centre (AIWEC) at i-City, officiated by YB Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI). The centre was established in partnership with I-Berhad, one of Malaysia’s leading investment and property development companies and the master developer of i-City.

In his address, the Minister described the AI World Experience Centre as “a landmark development by I-Berhad, in collaboration with AGIBOT, that marks a significant milestone in Malaysia’s AI innovation journey.” He noted that the centre, strategically located at i-City, Shah Alam, was the first of its kind in Southeast Asia and symbolised Malaysia’s readiness to lead in the era of artificial intelligence and smart technologies.

“As we prepare to implement Malaysia’s National Artificial Intelligence Action Plan 2026–2030,  this launch could not have come at a more opportune time. AI is no longer a distant concept. It is here, shaping our industries, transforming economies, and redefining how we live and learn,” he said.

The Minister highlighted that AIWEC served not only as a technological showcase but also as a platform for inclusion, inspiration, and education, featuring interactive exhibits, robotic demonstrations, coding zones for children, and AI learning modules. He emphasised that the centre embodied the spirit of the Malaysia MADANI vision by empowering society through knowledge and innovation.

“What makes AIWEC so unique is its deep alignment with our national priorities. This is not merely a high-tech showcase; this is an inclusive, interactive, and educational space designed to spark curiosity, build AI literacy, and empower Malaysians of all ages to understand and engage with one of the most transformative technologies of our time,” he said.

The Minister also commended I-Berhad and AGIBOT for selecting Malaysia as the first international launch site outside of China, noting that it reflected confidence in Malaysia’s innovation ecosystem, talent pool, and national commitment to advancing science and technology. He added that MOSTI viewed centres like AIWEC as catalysts for public–private collaboration, upskilling and reskilling programmes, and the development of a homegrown AI industry.

As part of the strategic alliance between AGIBOT and i-Berhad, AGIBOT’s robotics and embodied AI were deployed across various sectors, including property, hospitality, tourism, and day-to-day urban life, within i-City, Malaysia’s leading digital city. The collaboration also introduced a focus on human wellness and longevity, applying AI and robotics not only to productivity and automation, but also to health optimisation and quality of life. AI World represented the first stage of a broader, long-term partnership between the two organisations.

“The building and launch of Malaysia’s first AI & Robotics Experience Centre concludes the first phase of our partnership with i-City, with plans for further development in the coming year. This launch also marks the first of several strategic initiatives we will roll out in the Asia-Pacific region throughout 2026 and beyond,” said Abel Deng, President, Asia-Pacific & Middle East Region, AGIBOT.

“We are confident that this strategic initiative between AGIBOT and I-Berhad will advance Malaysia’s vision to become a regional hub for AI innovation through integrated development across technology, governance, talent, infrastructure, and investment,” said Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong, Chairman of I-Berhad.

AGIBOT also showcased its diversified robotics portfolio, including the A2 series full-sized humanoids, X2 series compact humanoids, G2 series industrial-grade embodied robots, D1 quadruped robots, and the C5 autonomous commercial floor-care robot. The company’s robots targeted eight key commercial applications, including reception and hospitality, entertainment, industrial manufacturing, logistics sorting, security inspection, data collection, scientific research, and education.

Through widespread adoption across multiple industries, AGIBOT demonstrated how embodied AI could be translated into real-world applications, driving industrial upgrades, transforming service and production processes, and supporting broader digital transformation efforts across the region.
