Kuala Lumpur, 5 February 2026 — The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) supports the Ministry of Human Resources’ initiative to develop a pathway enabling direct hiring of foreign workers, describing it as a positive move to reduce high recruitment costs and address the lack of transparency in foreign worker recruitment.
“While we are working on a clear, direct recruitment framework, the application and approval processes for foreign workers must be enhanced and streamlined, shifting towards digitalisation to enhance efficiency. These include a centralised approval, consistency and clear interpretation of guidelines,” said ACCCIM President, Datuk Ng Yih Pyng
ACCCIM also expressed its readiness to engage and work with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Human Resources to ensure the implementation of a sustainable and efficient recruitment framework that supports employers and strengthens workforce management.
