During the preview, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia unveiled the all-new electric CLA, described as the most intelligent Mercedes-Benz ever. The vehicle featured the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), an AI-enhanced MBUX Virtual Assistant, and an impressive range of up to 792 km according to WLTP. The preview highlighted how the model combined cutting-edge digital innovation with elegant, emotive design, setting a class of its own.
“Today’s preview of the all-new electric CLA marks one of the most exciting moments for Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. It is our most intelligent vehicle and the first of a new generation designed around our customers’ expectations for performance, technology, and design. We are delighted to have accelerated its arrival so our customers can experience this remarkable car up close, and to share this milestone as we celebrate new beginnings into the New Year and Chinese New Year,” said Amanda Zhang, CEO & President of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, starting off the event.
The preview took place as Mercedes-Benz marked 140 years since the 1886 patent of the first gasoline-powered automobile. Over more than a century, the brand has continuously shaped mobility through engineering excellence, iconic design, attention to detail, and extraordinary customer experience. This legacy entered a new era with the all-new CLA.
“Malaysia remains a key market for Mercedes-Benz, supported by a strong and loyal customer base and a strategic role within the Asia-Pacific region. As our brand commemorates 140 years since the invention of the automobile, we continue to build on our heritage while shaping the future with more product introductions this year. From new electric models to updates across the top-end and performance portfolio, the all-new CLA stands as a clear reflection of the direction Mercedes-Benz is taking — combining innovation, design, and everyday usability,” said Jens Kunath, the Vice President Sales & Financial Services, Mercedes-Benz Cars, MBAG
At the event, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia shared how the all-new CLA offered more to customers in every dimension, including more space, refinement, comfort, intelligence, and efficiency compared to its predecessor. The model marked the beginning of a new product rollout and demonstrated how the brand was advancing electric mobility, digital intelligence, and design for the next generation.
“The introduction of the all-new electric CLA is not just about a new model but about offering customers a more immersive and personalised way to engage with our brand. This exclusive preview at Stars Mercedes-Benz Bangsar allows us to bring these innovations closer to our customers and showcase how our brand is shaping the future of luxury mobility in Malaysia,” said Nadia Trimmel, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia
The all-new CLA was showcased as the first vehicle to fully operate on the in-house developed Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), enabling regular over-the-air updates for key vehicle functions, including driving assistance systems. The AI-enhanced MBUX Virtual Assistant, based on ChatGPT4o, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini, was highlighted for its ability to support complex, multi-turn dialogues, navigation-related questions, and emotion recognition through a “living” avatar in the form of the Mercedes-Benz star.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also emphasised the vehicle’s efficiency during the preview. The all-new electric CLA achieved consumption as low as 12.2 kWh/100 km and a range of up to 792 km according to WLTP. With its 800-volt system and new battery generation, the vehicle could be recharged to a range of up to 325 kilometres within ten minutes, positioning it as the “one-litre car” for the electric age.
Design elements were a central focus of the preview. The long wheelbase, short overhangs, and powerful GT rear were presented as an emotive expression of athletic power, complemented by a low greenhouse, long bonnet with power domes, and large wheels. The reinterpreted A-shape grille for the electric age featured an innovative seamless star panel with 142 individually animated LED chrome-effect stars, creating a distinctive brand signature. An expansive panoramic roof and a new interior experience with an unobstructed upward view were also showcased.
The preview further highlighted practical features, including the first modern Mercedes-Benz frunk offering 101 litres of additional load space, and a rear luggage compartment with a volume of 405 litres.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also shared that the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA 250+ with EQ Technology was open for pre-booking, with the estimated price from RM 295,888 (including 10% ST) for Peninsular Malaysia, on the road without insurance. The preview reinforced Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s continued focus on innovation, customer experience, and long-term loyalty through upcoming initiatives such as the 100,000 km Club, offering exclusive privileges and experiences for valued customers.
