Event highlights Melaka’s growing potential as a competitive regional hub for meetings and business events.

Melaka, Malaysia, 8 December 2025 – Signalling Melaka’s rising ambition in the regional business events market, Dusit Princess Melaka, managed by Dusit International, will unveil its newly refreshed meeting facilities at an exclusive MICE Showcase for leading Malaysian business media, corporate partners, and travel agents on 8th December 2025.

As Malaysia’s business events sector continues to expand – projected to contribute up to RM76.8 billion in revenue and draw more than 25 million visitors in the coming years – Melaka is emerging as a compelling option for planners seeking a culturally rich, well-connected, and value-driven venue for meetings, incentive travel, conferences, and corporate gatherings. Dusit Princess Melaka’s MICE Showcase aims to support this momentum.

Guests at the event will be the first to view the hotel’s revitalised Bendahara Room and upgraded seventh-floor event level, which now features refreshed interiors, improved acoustics, modern LCD screens, and enhanced pre-function spaces designed to support a variety of meeting formats.

Introducing the New General Manager

“Melaka is entering a pivotal phase as demand for meetings and corporate travel continues to grow,” said Mr Suter. “Planners are increasingly looking beyond major cities for venues that offer value, cultural depth, and easy access. With our refreshed event spaces and experienced team, Dusit Princess Melaka is ready to support this shift and help position the city more firmly on the regional MICE map ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.”

A Comprehensive Suite of Event Spaces

During the showcase, attendees will experience the hotel’s full suite of event offerings, including one of the largest ballrooms in Melaka. Spanning 774 sqm and accommodating up to 1,000 guests, it anchors a flexible collection of meeting spaces, including versatile rooms suited for multi-breakout agendas, and generous pre-function areas ideal for networking, exhibitions, and welcome receptions. Additional corporate-friendly amenities ensure seamless support for productive, multi-day events.

The MICE Showcase will also outline Dusit International’s broader MICE strategy in Southeast Asia, including:

  • The upcoming opening of ASAI Gamuda Cove in Malaysia
  • Expanded portfolio of MICE-ready properties across Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines
  • Celebrated reopening of the reimagined flagship Dusit Thani Bangkok, which recently earned a Michelin Key and now offers advanced conference and event infrastructure to support multi-destination planning across the region.

Attendees will also be introduced to Dusit Gold, Dusit’s loyalty programme for frequent and business travellers, which offers early check-in, late check-out, preferential rates, dining savings, and a Status Match feature for members of other hotel loyalty programmes.

Melaka’s Rising Demand for Business Events

With domestic travel in Malaysia rising to 260.1 million trips in 2024 – a 21.7% year-on-year increase – Melaka is benefitting from growing demand for corporate retreats, company-wide events, and blended business-leisure stays.

Dusit Princess Melaka’s refreshed facilities, strategic location in a UNESCO World Heritage City, and strong alignment with regional MICE trends position the hotel to capture this demand.

This strengthened position was recently recognised at the International Business Magazine Awards 2025, where the property was named Best Hotel for Business Travellers – Malaysia and commended for Excellence in Regional Hospitality.

“The upcoming MICE Showcase will demonstrate the hotel’s readiness to meet evolving market needs and contribute meaningfully to Melaka’s continued growth as a capable and culturally distinctive business events destination,” said Mr Suter. “We look forward to welcoming our partners and media guests to experience this first-hand and to working closely with them to put Melaka firmly on the regional MICE map.”
