Selangor SMEs shine as state records RM182.2 billion in exports
The Hari Eksport Selangor 2025 concluded successfully after bringing together more than 200 local entrepreneurs and industry leaders for two days (25th–26th August) at Dewan Raja Muda Musa, Shah Alam. The event was organised by the Selangor State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) and the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) in collaboration with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), with strategic partners including Maybank, Affin Bank, Redly, and Exim Bank Malaysia.
Now in its third year, the event has become a vital platform for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to explore export opportunities and expand into international markets.
The opening ceremony was officiated by YB Mohd Najwan Halimi, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship, alongside senior representatives from PKNS and MATRADE.
“Hari Eksport Selangor reflects the state’s strong commitment to building a more inclusive and competitive export ecosystem. Selangor is on a firm trajectory in export development, with more companies actively engaging in MATRADE programmes,” said YB Mohd Najwan.
Selangor’s trade performance continues to demonstrate resilience and growth. In 2024, the state recorded RM357.06 billion in exports, accounting for 23.7% of Malaysia’s total exports and ranking as the third-largest contributor after Penang and Johor. From January to June 2025, Selangor maintained its position with RM182.20 billion in exports. Key sectors driving this growth include machinery and transport equipment (41.4%), manufactured goods (15.3%), and chemicals (12.5%).
MATRADE Deputy CEO (Exporter Development), Mansor Shah Wahid, reaffirmed MATRADE’s role as a facilitator for exporters through business matching, export promotion, and capacity building.
“As of July 2025, Selangor companies make up 45.5% of MATRADE’s registered exporters, with 92% of them being MSMEs,” he noted.

During the event, outstanding companies were recognised as top exporters under MATRADE and PKNS programmes:
- Bio Harvest Sdn Bhd
- Aducktive Food Sdn Bhd
- Bin Malek Global Sdn Bhd
- Kimyra International Sdn Bhd (MSME category)
- SME Aerospace Sdn Bhd (Mid-Tier Company category)
Following Selangor, the final edition of Hari Eksport 2025 will take place in Negeri Sembilan on 2–3 September at Royale Chulan Hotel, Seremban.
