THE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE TOOL FOR MALAYSIA’S SME COMMUNITY LAUNCHED

Kuala Lumpur, 18 September 2013 – The MALAYSIA SME Community® Directory, The First In The Country, Targeted At The Largest Contributor Of GDP, The Small Medium Enterprises, Was Launched Today By Y. Bhg. Datuk Ir. (Dr) Mohamed Al Amin Hj. Abdul Majid, Chairman Of SME Corp Malaysia.
“SMEs Make Up More Than 97% Of Total Businesses And Employ 65% Of The Workforce In Malaysia And Since 2004; SME Contribution To The Malaysian Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Exceeds Overall GDP Growth. Rather Than Just Listings, The MALAYSIA SME® Community Directory Offers Detailed And Relevant Data About The Company Which Includes Facts, Consumer Preferences, And Statistics On Nineteen (19) Business Communities Driven By SMEs, “ Said Y. The MALAYSIA SME® Community Directory To Be Published Biannually By MALAYSIA SME® Will Have 130,000 Copies Of Circulation That Will Be Distributed And Used By The SMEs, Government Ministries, Departments And Agencies, Corporate Companies And Many Other SME Stakeholders Throughout The Country That Will Be Published Bi-Annually. The Directory Will Also Be Made Available At SME Corp Nationwide Offices, According To Datuk Ir. (Dr) Mohamed Al Amin.

Wayne Lim, Publisher Of The Malaysia SME® Community Directory Added “Our Editorial And Research Time Have Been Relentless In Their Pursuit Of Getting The Information, Data And Statistics. The Malaysia SME Community Directory Was Inspired By The Need To Create Business Intelligence For The SME Community. We Wanted To Make Sure That This Directory Is More Than Listing. After Working With SMEs For So Long, We Wanted To Create A Publication That Was Comprehensive And Recognises The Contributions Of SME Subdivisions. As More Policies Are Enacted, We Were Driven By Passion To Compile This Information Which We Hope Will Be Handy For Not Just The SMEs And Policy Makers But Also To Academicians And Potential Investors.”

He Added That While SME Corp Continues To Coordinate And Evaluate The SME Programmes, MALAYSIA SME® Believe In The Shared Responsibility And The Essence Of Public- Private Partnership.
