In view of the announcement made by The Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin Bin Haji Mohd Yassin that the government will enforce the Movement Control Order (MCO) in the Federal Territories and five other states effective midnight Wednesday (13th January 2021) to curb the spread of Covid 19 Virus as the number of cases continues to rise.
The Hotel and Tourism Industry will be once more affected by the enforcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO) and we demand that the Government shall look seriously and act fast towards the issues that is faced or will be facing in the coming future by our Association Members, their employees and all Tourism Industry Players. Even through the Movement Control Order (MCO) will be enforced for Fourteen (14) days it will give a huge impact towards the recovery period of the Hotel and Tourism Industry.
The Government shall also look in improving as well in extending the Covid 19 Act (Temporary Measurements) and we hope to see that the Major issues faced by our members which is currently struggling to recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is being well protected.
While the Hotel Industry was immensely hard hit, We fully understand the need of the Government to enforce the Movement Control Order (MCO) and demand that the Government shall also understand the issues that are faced by the Hotel and Tourism Industry players as well and assist the industry before it’s too late with no direction of how and what is the future of the Hotel Industry.
We also advise all of our members to be strict on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in preventing the Spread of the Covid-19 Virus.
