YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Senior Minister and Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI), will be visiting Johor beginning tomorrow until Sunday, 5 July 2020. The two-day visit is part of Ministry of International Trade & Industry’s (MITI) continuous effort to address challenges and issues faced by industries particularly during the Movement Control Order (MCO) implemented due to COVID-19 pandemic.
YB Senior Minister is accompanied by MITI’s Secretary General Dato’ Lokman Hakim Ali and other senior officials. The turun padang initiative will enable industries to provide their views and recommendations to the Government particularly in relation to restarting and recovery of their businesses.
The visit will also allow MITI and its Agencies to get first-hand information on issues the companies are facing and the transformation they have undergone due to the COVID-19 crisis. This will help MITI design a better strategy and policies to support industry’s growth moving forward.
YB Dato’ Seri Azmin will also be having a Courtesy Call on YAB Menteri Besar of Johor, Datuk Ir. Haji Hasni bin Haji Mahammad, followed by a Round Table Session with industry representatives. The closed-door dialogue will enable industries to engage directly with both YAB Menteri Besar of Johor and YB Senior Minister on business-related issues concerning both Federal and State Governments.
MITI and its Agencies will intensify outreach to businesses be it Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Mid-Tier Companies (MTCs) or Multinational Companies (MNCs). As businesses need to adapt to the new normal, so does the Ministries and Agencies. The Government will improve its effort to work together with industries and businesses in accelerating their business recovery and ensure assistance through various stimulus measures including PENJANA will reach the Rakyat.
