  • ‘Buy Malaysia’ Campaign aims to spur local business recovery through the campaign and encourage Malaysians to shop local with exclusive rewards and deals
  • Consumers can indulge in Daily Free Shipping and discount vouchers when buying Malaysian products on Lazada
  • Further drive digital adoption for local sellers with Pintar Niaga seller package featuring zero commission and listing fee

KUALA LUMPUR – As part of its continued efforts to stimulate economy and promote digitalisation amongst local SMEs, Lazada is once again spearheading the ‘BUY MALAYSIA’ CAMPAIGN aimed to help local businesses stay afloat during the pandemic by encouraging consumers to support and shop local Malaysian-made products online. Through the campaign, online shoppers will be rewarded with special deals and savings when buying Malaysian made products or brands.

In partnership with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA), Lazada’s ‘BUY MALAYSIA’ CAMPAIGN runs from now until 31st December. Consumers can look forward to various incentives when shopping online locally, including Daily Free Shipping and RM10 off discount vouchers. Additionally, Lazada will continue its ongoing efforts to flatten the barriers for local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to digitalise their business through the Pintar Niaga program including benefits such as zero commission and listing fee for businesses to reap the benefits of onboarding Lazada’s eCommerce platform during the campaign period.

“Nurturing local businesses has always been at the core of our work at Lazada. Our ‘BUY MALAYSIA’ CAMPAIGN aims to directly connect sellers with our shoppers across Malaysia so they can expand and scale. We’ve seen hundreds of thousands of small businesses come onboard since the pandemic and we’ve seen many of them not just survive but expand and grow their businesses online. We are very heartened by their success and will continue to expand our efforts to spur their growth, empowering local sellers to digitise, and connect with consumers around the country through our platform. As we approach Malaysia’s Merdeka celebrations this month, we celebrate their resilience and hope that Malaysians will continue to support their local SMEs in Malaysia,” said Magnus Ekbom, Chief Executive Officer of Lazada Malaysia.

As part of Lazada’s ‘BUY MALAYSIA’ CAMPAIGN, new sellers who onboard Lazada’s eCommerce platform during the campaign period will also be entitled to a special new seller package through Pintar Niaga program with benefits including:

  • 0% commission and listing fee
  • 0% payment fee for all orders received within 30 days from onboarding date
  • RM300 ad credits for 90 days

Additionally, new sellers will receive guidance and support for the first 90 days from the dedicated Lazada incubation team, full access to Lazada’s suite of tech and innovative digital tools, Weekly New Seller Training by certified LazStars and education via Lazada University, as well as marketing campaigns including Weekly New Seller Campaign Exposure to help expand their customer outreach to the 1 in 3 Malaysians population who shop on Lazada and differentiate their business on the eCommerce platform.

Since the first roll out of its stimulus package for SMEs called ‘Pakej Kedai Pintar’ in April 2020, Lazada has aided hundreds of thousands of MSMEs to date to take the digital leap. This has led to a 300% increase of new sellers onboarding the platform with a growth sales uplift that more than doubled by the end of 2020.
Earlier this year, Lazada launched ‘Pakej Kedai Pintar 2.0’ and its ‘Kedai Pintar Niaga’ program to provide additional aid to MSMEs and help them overcome the challenges together as a community.
