Young Bumiputra, Indian Entrepreneurs Urged To Join JCIM
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- Young Bumiputra and Indian entrepreneurs have been urged to join the Junior Chamber International Malaysia (JCIM) to share business expertise and knowledge mastered by Chinese entrepreneurs.
Deputy Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Joseph Salang said by joining JCIM, young entrepreneurs can not only interact among themselves, it would also become a platform for networking.
"It cannot be denied that in Malaysia, Chinese are a major force in business compared with others. So if the young Bumiputra and Indian entrepreneurs join JCIM, they too can benefit by learning the trade," he told reporters after launching the nomination process for JCIM 2011 Creative Young Entrepreneur Award (JCI CYEA) here today.
The internationally recognised award is being organised by the Junior Chamber International Petaling Jaya and supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ministry of Information Communication and Culture.
The prestigious award is designed to reward, honour and recognise outstanding young entrepreneurs between 18 and 40 years, who have transformed a business idea positively.
A nominee must be an owner or manager who is primarily responsible for the recent or start-up performance of a private-held business and must be under 40 years of age on the date the recognition.
