Three Malaysian manufacturers receive recognition for excellence
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 13 (Bernama) -- Three Malaysian manufacturers have been recognised by the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) for outstanding achievement in manufacturing, process improvements and corporate growth in 2011.
The three are Camfil Farr Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Power Plug Busduct Sdn Bhd and PHN Industry Sdn Bhd.
Camfil Farr Malaysia Sdn Bhd received the Rising Star of the Year Award while Power Plug Busduct Sdn Bhd and PHN Industry Sdn Bhd both bagged the Best Manufacturer of the Year Award under the SMI and Large Companies category respectively.
FMM in a statement here today said Camfil Farr Malaysia Sdn Bhd had shown exceptional growth for the past three to five years and proven leadership qualities.
Being part of the Swedish Camfil Farr Group, the company has been making filtration products since 1998. Its star filter product is reusable up to ten times.
The company's after-tax profit tripled in 2010 and it recorded a turnover of RM100 million in 2011. Camfil Farr Malaysia is seen as a model of quality and excellence.
Power Plug Busduct Sdn Bhd is a successful family-owned SMI set up in 2002 specialising in power distribution systems (busway) with markets in over 20 countries.
The company uses automated precision machines, and has strong technical and design expertise along with a high level of customer support. It also has landmark projects in Qatar, Singapore, Thailand, and Taiwan.
The FMM believes the company is an inspiration to all SMIs in Malaysia.
Meanwhile, established in 1990, PHN Industry is the preferred metal parts manufacturer for Proton, Perodua and global brands like Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, Suzuki, Daewoo, Volvo, and Isuzu in the OEM and REM markets.
Using the best in Malaysian and Japanese technologies and automation, PHN has programmes in product localisation and specialisation, design development, prototyping and soft tooling.
Meeting customers' requirement for a two per cent cost down every year, PHN has been recording profits above RM10 million and sales of over RM200 million since 2009.
The statement said all three companies received their awards in conjunction with FMM's Annual Dinner here on Dec 7.
Camfil Farr Malaysia Sdn Bhd was represented by Jorn Poulsen, its managing director, PHN Industry Sdn Bhd by its chief executive officer Hamizan Osman and Power Plug Busduct by Bryan Lau, the executive director.
