TM To Introduce 'Blue Lane' For Technopreneurs
KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 (Bernama) -- Telekom Malaysia (TM) will introduce an ICT technopreneur programme called "Blue Lane" for local small and medium ICT players to become the company's business partners.
Under the programme, TM would expose the participants to new ICT fields through briefing and dialogue sessions, Chairman Datuk Dr Halim Shafie said at presentation of TM Entrepreneur Awards here.
He also said that the TM Entrepreneur Development Programme would see a change.
"In tandem with the change in TM's business landscape, entrepreneurs under the programme will undergo a transformation process to become more creative and innovative," he said.
He said the programme's 2010 theme was "Transformation through Creativity and Knowledge".
TM would also introduce an entrepreneur development masterplan in the next three years, focusing on transformation, collaboration and innovation, Halim said.
The company was also working on forging strategic ties with several ministries, government agencies, universities and the private sector to enhance the standard of innovation of entrepreneurs, he said.
Speaking about the awards, Halim said he was delighted with TM's entrepreneurs and vendors who showed exemplary results last year.
"These entrepreneurs are the selected ones to be part of TM's Entrepreneur Development Programme which was established in 1993 to develop, implement and monitor the development of Bumiputera entrepreneurs," he said.
Duramine Sdn Bhd was named Entrepreneur of the Year. It also received the Best Manufacturer Award and Innovative Excellence Award.
Other recipients included Aneka Bena M.N. Sdn Bhd, Nurkamal Network Sdn Bhd, Exact Engineering Sdn Bhd.
