PKNK Allocates RM2 Million To Assist Bumiputera Entrepreneurs
ALOR SETAR, Jan 21 (Bernama) -- The Kedah State Development Corporation (PKNK) has allocated RM2 million to finance its 2010 Entrepreneur Fund.
The fund is to assist Bumiputera entrepreneurs in expanding their business. The PKNK Entreprenurs Fund chairman, Che Had Dhali said through the programme, small entrepreneurs can be assisted to enhance their income.
"The fund is one of the initiatives of the state government and the Corporation to assist Small Medium Industries and entrepreneurs throughout Kedah, who are experiencing difficulty in securing loans from financial institutions," he told reporters Thursday.
He was speaking after a ceremony to hand over the allocation for the PKNK 2010 Entrepreneur Fund at the Wisma PKNK here. He said for the first phase of 2010, a total of RM495,000 of the RM2 million allocated, has been approved for 18 entrepreneurs who are eligible to receive amounts from as low as RM2,000 to RM50,000.
"This allocation can be distributed to all types of businesses, including agriculture. But those concerned need to have a business and marketing plan as well as the potential to expand," he added. -- BERNAMA
