Orang Kampung Eyes RM18 Million In Sales

JASIN, April 18 (Bernama) -- Health product manufacturer Orang Kampung Holdings (M) Sdn Bhd has set a sales target of RM18 million after registering RM15 million in 2010.

This would be achieved through the launch of four new products recently which included the 3G mental strengthening drink for children, general manager Ismail Ali said.

Speaking to reporters at the launch of the Orang Kampung Bonanza Contest in Merlimau here Monday, he said the company planned to introduce two more products, a herbal oil and a herbal tea, in two months.

"Three other pharmaceutical-type products in the form of cream and lotion are expected to be launched by year end," he added.

Ismail said that last year, herb-based products contributed RM12 million to Orang Kampung's total sales.

He said overseas markets generated 20 per cent of the company's sales.

"Five per cent of total sales were sales in Singapore and Brunei," he said, adding that the company's other export markets were Indonesia, Hong Kong and the Middle East.

The company was now thinking of entering Europe, he added.

To strengthen sales in Indonesia, he said, Orang Kampung would set up a distribution centre there by year end.

He also said that the company spent about RM5 million annually to promote its products and of the total, RM1.3 million was allocated for the Orang Kampung Bonanza Contest which could boost sales by 30 per cent through the five-month period. -- BERNAMA
