Nusroh enters Indonesian market after Singapore, Thailand
KULIM, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- Nusroh Industri Sdn Bhd, a Bumiputera company that produces various herbal based products and goat milk extracts, has started exporting its products to Indonesia after its successful entry into the Singapore and Thailand market.
Its chief executive officer Abdul Rahim Omar said the marketing of the company's products, worth around RM250,000, to Jakarta would start in the coming new year.
"In fact the initial promotion of the goat milk extracts have already started with the help of PT Comoc Pasifik (distribution company) since July this year, covering the area of Jakarta," he said during a ceremony at the Kulim Techno Centre here today to mark the appointment of Jakarta based PT Comoc Pasifik as its sole product distributor.
Abdul Rahim said work on the product had started early this year with an initial investment of RM1 million including product research and development expenses. Meanwhile, the Managing Director of P.T. Comoc, Ruswan Kamil, said the company would be concentrating its sales in the areas of Jakarta, Dapok, Tenggerang and Bekasi.
These areas cover around a population of 40 million with majority of them Muslims, Ruswan said, adding that the issue of halal would also not arise as it was practiced well in Malaysia.
A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed here today between Nusroh Industri and KBiocorp and the Agriculture Department of Kedah. The agriculture department together with KBioCorp have established the Bio Valley that comprises an area covering 40 hectares in Karangan and another 100 hectares in Mahang in Kulim.
The areas have been planted with various herbal trees in the last two years, supervised by the agriculture department and KBiocorp.
Under today's agreement, Nusroh will be provided with the supply of raw herbal materials for its production purposes.
