Maybank mulls opening 6 branches in Sabah

TAWAU, Sept 12 (Bernama) -- Maybank Bhd is to open at least six branches in Sabah as part of the commitment of the nation's biggest commercial bank to stimulate the economy, says executive vice-president, head of community distribution, Mohd Hanif Suadi.

So far, Ranau, Beaufort, Donggongon and Kota Marudu have been identified as the prospective locations for the new branches, he said.

Opening branches in these areas proved Maybank's commitment to complement the government's call to activate socio-economic activities, he said at the opening of the 4th Mile Maybank branch at Kabota Square in Jalan Apas.

The 23rd Maybank branch in Sabah was opened by State Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan.

Mohd Hanif said it has been Maybank's practice to monitor its service quality to customers and provide smart and safe services like eKawanku at almost all its branches nationwide apart from Internet banking Maybank2u.com.
